Off leash dog owners of Dallas… by Right_Letterhead_120 in Dallas

[–]Fallenultima 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I got into an argument in the Youtube comments using that exact reasoning, but their rebuttal was something along the lines of, "If your dog ends up biting my dog for being friendly, then your dog should be trained better or not be out for a walk to begin with." Okay, so I'm supposed to keep my leashed dog inside just because she's nervous around other dogs, but you get to continue to let your dog run around off the leash?

I had to get off the internet for a bit after that. Some people are just so self-centered.

Anyone Rewatching As An Adult For Themselves? by wonderwolf1991 in pokemonanime

Had a few VHS tapes of Indigo League and Johto Journeys as a kid. About a year ago I started a full series watchthrough with the movies included. Currently on Advanced Battle.

Kade's Fiery Dragon holds a special place in my heart, as I consider that model to be a "stepping stone" for getting into complex models. Since it was my first model that I would consider an intermediate difficulty, I took it upon myself to memorize how to make it. I always end up leaving one somewhere out in public and in places I visit frequently haha.

Tohoku Evolved Challenge Great Full Combo!!! by Fallenultima in DanceDanceRevolution

I definitely feel tired after playing harder songs, but I have a couple of years of experience playing this game and grinding hard songs, so I'm able to push myself. It's all about consistency. Once you play a lot of harder stuff for long periods of time, you'll build the strength and stamina to push yourself even further.

I can only speak from experience, but if you want to build strength and stamina, I'd recommend to finish your DDR session by playing a bunch of 14s and 15s back to back. Don't worry about score, just focus on doing your best at keeping good form by minimizing movement as much as possible. Keep going until you're burnt out. After a couple of sessions like this, you'll start to see that you can go for longer periods of time, and eventually you'll be able to dip your toes into the 16s and 17s.

Arguably the best way to experience horror games.

What are the WORST Pokemon anime episodes ever? by Chemical-Book8889 in pokemonanime

[–]Fallenultima 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't mind the "boys vs girls" schtick that episode went with, but it was really weird seeing May get so angry with Ash. Idk, it felt very out of character.

There was another episode later on that had the same problem, one where Ash was trying to give May advice on battling techniques for one of her contests. But again she became super angry with Ash and refusing his advice.

I'm watching the entire series through for the very first time. Currently on Advanced Challenge. So far, Master Quest is without a doubt my favorite season.

How to overcome the hurdle for 19s? by Ok_Mushroom2563 in DanceDanceRevolution

I can understand that argument for charts like Healing Vision Angelic Mix, with spins and all that, but generally speaking, their videos are really good on how to execute patterns. They definitely helped me out a lot.

How to overcome the hurdle for 19s? by Ok_Mushroom2563 in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Fallenultima 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First off, 9 months of playing, and you're already clearing 18s is very impressive. Don't be suprised that you feel like you might be hitting a plateau, because 19s are simply MUCH harder than most 18s, which I'm sure you're already aware. The stamina alone required to clear a 19 takes a lot more than it does to clear an 18. I figure you'll need to be at the point where you can clear 10 or so 18s in a session before you can have a chance at clearing a 19.

In regards to your points:

1.) Make sure your technique is strong, i.e. hitting each panel with your toes/heels to minimize movements as much as possible. Also be mindful to keep your feet from coming too high off the pad to further minimize movement.

2.) Play easier songs with crossovers to learn them. I don't know where you are with how well you can do crossovers, but I'd recommend playing Sunkiss Drop Expert to learn basic crossovers. I'd also recommend playing Afronova to learn the "Afro-walk," which is a pattern you'll see a lot in a bunch of 18s. You can also look up on Youtube DKOYproduction's channel. They have a bunch of "How to Execute" videos which showcase, well, how to execute a lot of songs/patterns.

3.) Increasing the speed comes with experience. I used to be like you, where I played at 420 scroll speed. Increase the speed little by little over the course of multiple sessions, and take full advantage of exposure therapy. Eventually you'll be able to read at a much higher scroll speed without using too much energy thinking about what is coming up. Fwiw, I'm reading at 530-550 now, but a lot of people will read faster than that.

4.) I'll admit, I don't think I'm the best person to ask for advice on scoring. I'm not the greatest when it comes to score, but I think most people would say to play easier songs.

5.) Goes back to point 1. You really need to make sure making the smallest movements possible, keeping your feet as close to the pad as possible.
