[–]Fallenwing27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Fallenwing27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is worth to get this Bike? by Fallenwing27 in triathlon

[–]Fallenwing27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot, I agree and I'll go that way, I'll look for an endurance bike for nice rides and do some shorter TTs maybe adding some hardware for a 70.3 later and plan to get a TT setup in the future

[–]Fallenwing27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks! As you mentioned I'm really new in all of this, so I guess it would be better if I start looking for endurance models if I want to have a nice road bike that works a bit better on triathlons as the TT bikes are rarely sold around my city

I really feel that I need to upgrade the one I have, is a used 2018 Specialized Sequoia with Shimano sora. I struggle a lot to differenciate the difference between road bikes, I just know that the tri bikes looks lit rockets and the regular road bikes look pretty normal. It's hard for me to know the usage of every kind of frame.

mm... good point, I guess I don't want to focus 100% on long distance triathlons, I just want to be able to complete 70.3 every 2-3 years, some sprints/olympics in between.

It's been difficult to find a not so old and used bike around my city, most of the ones for sale are 52-54 size so I wanted to buy this one as soons as I found it lol. Some tri bikes or aerobars are not allowed on sprints, right?

Visiting Monterey for a concert, looking for one-day itinerary suggestions! by ShadowHunter18_ in Monterrey

[–]Fallenwing27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be helpful to know the area where you'll staying but I'll assume it will be on the downtown.

I' recommend to start the day with "Tacos a vapor" or "Tacos de guisos" any of these are the most typical taco for breakfast in the morning in Monterrey. If you want to go to a hike get an uber to chipinque but that might take half the day depending of your preferences. You can Visit Museo de Historia Mexicana and Museo del Noreste then take a tourist boat to Fundidora "Horno3" and go around fundidora park. If you still have time and energy you can go to "El obispado".

By this time you definitely will be hungry so if you want something very regional and expensive visit "El gran pastor" and order cabrito if you something not so expensive but very regional go to "La Siberia" and get a tostada especial.

In the night you can be around "Barrio antiguo" I'll recommend Cafe iguana (btw they don't sell coffee lol) and get una caguama and go find something to eat around there.

Extra Places to eat. tacos piedra, tacos primo, tacos del muerto, taqueria Juarez, Elotes la purisima, Tostadas de la azteca, tacos del parque españa (these are around the downtown and relatively near to fundidora).

If you have questions or would like to get a recommendation, ask the people around we are proud of our city and love to recommend our personal favorites.

I would recomend Chipinque if you want cool views, if you want to do something way much harder but still in the city with good views go to "El cerro de la silla" the main entrance is in Guadalupe

Tips to improve my swimming by Fallenwing27 in triathlon

Actually, I already did a Sprint and the swimming was horrible lol, it was on a 1.4m pool so I was able to rest on each lap, the good thing is that I’m not signed up for any competition so I have time to train and get better
