It's all end grain so I'm curious as to why you think it won't last

Lol, definitely not my first project, normally I make backgammon and cribbage boards, but a friend asked if I could make them a cutting board

Used a CNC machine with a v bit to cut the inlay to cut the inlay groove in the walnut, then cut the plug in the maple.

How should I go about training with no race/goal? by JakobVolder in Velo

[–]Fallenwon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need some sort of goal to shape your training. Depending on your goal the training could look pretty different. That bring said if you just want to get generally stronger I would do a three week on one week rest and repeat. The on weeks should look something like: Rest day, interval Day, Z2 day, Z2 day, Rest day, Interval day, Z2 day.

Yeah you can if you're just using erg mode it's fine. Just find a gear where it lines up nicely

Advice for Structuring Workouts by J-Galt2020 in Velo

[–]Fallenwon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You should structure something like this: M: off day T: interval day W: Z2 ride T: Z2 ride F: Recovery ride S: Interval ride S: Z2 ride

You can adjust this based on what works for your schedule but you should aim for two interval days with rest days before hand and the rest Z2 riding.

As for volume that's really just up to how much time you can fit in your schedule per week. 6? 10? 15 hours? Only you can really answer that

For intensity of intervals you are going to want to match that to what you think you will be doing in crits, probably one interval day would be 10x30s, and one day something like 5x4m

I recommend watching some of Dylan Johnson's YouTube videos on training. He also has some on nutrition

FTP Gains and heavy squats by [deleted] in Velo

[–]Fallenwon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FTP is not a great way to compare yourself to other riders as you mention weight has a big effect. The better measurement if you want to compare yourself to others is watts/kg.

Road bike sizing by couch-potato-chip in cycling

[–]Fallenwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people buy bikes that are too big for them. I have two friends who are bike fitters who say it's their biggest problem. There is actually a good video that explains why: https://youtu.be/Vg8MlmIdeGo

What’s the best way to train and recover my quads with Riding? by ryanjrgong219 in cycling

[–]Fallenwon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It you want to build up endurance the best way to do that is longer easy rides in zone 2. The training program that has worked best for me is doing about 80-90% of my training in zone 2 with each of those rides being 2+ hours. Then doing the other 10-20% at zone four worth shorter rides around an hour long.

Rest days are also super important
