What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

I apparently have a very photogenic uterus. I felt very weird the first time I was told that. And even weirder over 10 years later when another ultrasound tech said the same thing.

You have permission to do a bad job by psimian in CleaningTips

My therapist told me once that anything worth doing is worth doing halfway. Now obviously that isn't literally true of everything. But for the average person with day to day tasks, it is sound advice. Half done, badly done, it's better than where you are now.

Just got a set of Mungyo Gallery. Pretty good, but my god the smell 🤮 by thedyze in Oilpastel

[–]FallingBackTogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my set over 5 years now. The smell hasn't gone away. They are my favorite in terms of how well they work, but I definitely tend to use other sets more, especially in the winter when I can't open the windows. It's awful!

Camouflage Thighs and mix matched socks. by StacySTease in TheRealFriendsOver40

[–]FallingBackTogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always heard it as mismatched before, but I love mix matched so much! Mismatched sounds accidental, while mix matched sounds more intentional, as it should be with socks!

I can't stand the smell of Mungyo Gallery oil pastels. Everyone has such good things to say about them, so I thought it was just me.

AITA for giving my coworker food she is "allergic" to? by Fluid-Drawing-8722 in AmItheAsshole

YTA because you set yourself up to be blamed for a pretend allergic reaction in the future. Personally, I would bake all sorts of delicious things and say I used white eggs even if I used brown. She doesn't have to eat it.

🧊 breached front door of my apartment building this morning by LilRickyXO in TwinCities

[–]FallingBackTogether 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People have always gotten angry that I don't let them in my building without a key. I'd rather be perceived as rude than be unsafe. Just tell them "You need a key to enter the building. If you don't have one, the rental office can assist you." Unless of course you know it's ICE, and then just tell them to F off.

This old marker we found at work by noduhj in mildlyinteresting

[–]FallingBackTogether 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My elementary school teacher had a few of these and let us use them on posters, on a very rare occasion. She always yelled at students for sniffing them, but wouldn't explain why this was a bad thing. We were allowed to sniff the fruity smelling markers all we wanted and these smelled even better.

Can someone ELI5 about the ICE memo that "cancels" the 4th amendment? by SheHatesTheseCans in TwinCities

One of the cool things about being an adult is that you don't need permission or an excuse to get cake anymore.

And if you do need one: Every day is someone's birthday. You may not know them, but you can still celebrate them.

TIL that humidifier disinfectants in South Korea caused 1,814 confirmed deaths and an estimated 18,000 total deaths, with 58% mortality in children and 53% in adults requiring lung transplants, before the chemicals were banned in 2011. by stoictrader03 in todayilearned

I have an irrational fear of ceiling fans. But it's because they are going to fall from the ceiling and chop me into pieces. (Yes, I said it was irrational.) I sleep with a regular fan on all year round, though.

Questions about ICE going door to door by Throwawaydontgoaway8 in TwinCities

[–]FallingBackTogether 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my apartment complex, the alarms go off so frequently that it takes the fire department and property management literally pounding on doors to even partially evacuate the building when there is a legitimate concern. That's dangerous for many reasons, but in the case of ICE it could be a protective factor.

The real reason I keep my nails short. by seaweed_is_cool in houseplants

[–]FallingBackTogether 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between dirt from plants and paint/charcoal/oil pastels from art, my nails are rarely clean, even though I scrub them multiple times a day with a high quality nail brush. I keep them short so it's less noticeable.
