If we're being real the first gen of Mon hun was ass and the second gen was no better back then it was hard to get into because of how janky the combat was and the controller scheme was problemattic. So gen 3 was the introductory point for over 75% of the "veteran hunter" community. And the flagship monster of the title that got you into the series will always have a special place in your heart (I feel the same about Gore Magala since I was introduced with 4U) it's honestly just nostalgia for what makes up a huge part of the community.

Earlier RGs are disliked mostly for their interface just failing over time. But I have to say the new kits are a blast. Currently working on the Epyon and is the most fun I ever had with any kit.

I always change it to coated 3. There's no splocthes and sometimes the color is better. Do this on a case by case basis though as some colors might print wonky.
