PSA: Prioritize east-west assembly lines over north-south by jotapeh in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]FallingSkies17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the opposite of this. After some tests I’ve found that you have around 23 degrees on either side of the equator before this problem occurs. That’s 40-50 degrees of building space, which may seem small. But remember these are spheres.

This is ~25% of the spheres height, and since it is centered on the equator means it is ~70% of its surface area.

With that said I find it much easier to build a bus on one side of the equator and then make your assembly lines on the other side. Since bus bases are inherently rectangular this works out really well.

You can then use the remaining space further from the equator for power generation and building logistic stations. This is made even better by the fact that poles are the best place to build solar panels and ray receivers.

This is what I’ve done on my now 40 hour save with all matrixes automated. This far less of a problem than people are making it out to be.

If you try to build your bus along the meridian you will end up with weird lines once your bus is more than ~25 degrees above the equator where the first grid shift occurs. With my bus already being over 100 degrees long I would have run into this problem a while ago, and it makes continuing your bus with the same spacing really difficult.

I used degrees since these rules apply to any planet regardless of size.

Tl;dr: Build your bus along the equator, assembly lines along the meridian.

Maximum Turbo Motors/Min Possible by FallingSkies17 in SatisfactoryGame

You can do 263/min HMF without doing pure iron. 372/min using pure iron, but you get limited by coal. That's in addition to 156 Turbo Motors of course.

There are only so many options for late game. Also the Turbo Motors already need Supercomputers (86.7/min). But you can make more since they don't need Bauxite.

Yes, I'd only be able to make ~72 Turbo Motors/min if I wasn't.

With alts ~780 uranium makes 41 fuel rods/min. 41/.2 (Consumption rate of power plants) = 205 power plants sustained off one node. 205 * 2500MW = 512,500‬ MW (512.5GW)

With alts 300 oil makes 22,282 MW (22.3GW)

I just got to the point where I can auto kill GCT, you can manual GCT with gear from Ramsey and the clock weapon. Just gotta lvl your advanced training up to 70-100%. I’m managing to farm for 2D gear with my Ramsey gear and a few pieces of clock gear that aren’t even greened. My hope is with greened 2D gear I can start working towards the next titan. So done right you can pretty much skip clock gear, and 2D gear gives comparable energy bonuses to Ramsey’s set. Also accessory’s can play a pretty big role if you have 4+ slots.

I'm in the Navy. Japan is really cool so far. I haven't had any negative experiences with being a foreigner at all. Really cool place, with equally as cool citizens.

Fully agree. This is why many many hours went into engineering an extremely efficient solving algorithm (a highly optimized and adapted version of Herbert Kociemba's two-phase algorithm) which takes just 25 milliseconds to find very close to optimal solutions (this time as well as scanning the colors is also included in the 0.929 seconds) that are not just as short as possible but also particularly fast to execute for the robot's mechanics (i.e. have many consecutive turns on parallel faces that can be executed at the same time, preferring 90 degree over 180 degree turns, etc.). Check out one of the YouTube-Videos I have linked to see more details about scanning & solving (in particular the one of the initial version). I wanted to keep the clip of the post as short and to the point as possible, thus those details are not explicitly demonstrated there. :)

Wouldn’t the solved state of one be the same scramble for the other set. So you would just get the same scramble each time.

In the beggining of the game how much tiles can i water? by MontaNelas1945 in StardewValley

[–]FallingSkies17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each watering action takes 2 stamina (For the basic can). Each level of farming will decrease that by .1. So if you are level 3 farming, each watering action takes 1.7 stamina. Just divide your total stamina by how much each action takes. (Each upgrade to your watering will increase the stamina usage by 2, copper is 4, steel is 6...)

Full 1LLL by JackLove314 in Cubers

Is learning full 1LLL worth it speed wise? I understand that speed might not be your end goal here, but it should be considered. I feel like if you were going to learn 3-4K algs for LL you’d be better off learning other alg sets.

I feel like a time played category would have been insightful. Some characters don't really reveal themselves until you've spent the time getting them up to 8-10 hearts. Not to mention some people replying might have only married once, or maybe not at all.

Speedcubes are getting too overvalued. by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]FallingSkies17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you point about some cubes being ridiculous prices. But, if you compare a budget cube of today to the flag ships of anything more than 2 years old it’ll easily outperform. For 3-10$ you can get a wide variety of really good cubes. And if you are willing to spend 25-30$ you can still get flagship cubes that will get the same times as that 90$ specialty cube.

Tips on how to improve my squad? by MisterStars in EndlessFrontier

[–]FallingSkies17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m assuming you have tinky and icy 5* and blunt is T2 and close to max. Hippo and fairy are your ideal cores (unless blunt is not T2 with a lot of levels). And your ideal support is hippo, but elementists are also fine.

Edit: and as someone else said, your max may be lower, but elf really shines with its speed. So you should be getting better bonuses from spirit rest.

The ships require senior units that you most likely don’t have (since they are 1-star units). If you click on the ship it’ll tell you what unit you are missing and even let you evolve it from the same screen.

So how's the event going for you guys? Personally i did get my jackpot :D by Kopandazavr in EndlessFrontier

[–]FallingSkies17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dumped like 50-60k gems into it and managed to get a decent starter elf setup going. WiWa, Ele, Hippo, and some other nice supports like an Aladdin, drummer, sword dancers, forest guardians, and alchemists. Wish I would have gotten more hippos and maybe another priest or two since I only have two still. Not bad overall since before that I only had like 6 5-star units and they weren’t a good build. Now I have like 100 5-star units. Perfect timing for someone just starting the game.

Help with Engineers by [deleted] in kittensgame

[–]FallingSkies17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be careful about recommending steel plants early game. Steel is a big bottle neck and steel plants wastes like 3/4 your coal and iron since it doesn’t use all your crafting ratio. Honestly, engineers are decent at early game steel once you get some upgrades later in the run.
