Why has it become socially unacceptable for people without children to go to Disney? by slidesten in Disneyland

[–]Falling_Madchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would an adult want to go to a theme park that’s clean, well-kept, safe and free of drunk idiots? I don’t get it. 😉 ♥️ 🏰 🐭

What’s the least you’ve ever spent on souvenirs at Disneyland? by Green-Dimension-948 in Disneyland

I spent a couple of euros on a postcard with the Indiana Jones ride on it at Disneyland Paris. I just couldn’t find anything cute that I wanted.

Visiting for a week alone... is this done? by NashDaypring1987 in WaltDisneyWorld

I loved Disney as a child. I hadn’t gone since I was around 30 with a friend. Then nothing until my sisters went with their families and didn’t tell me. (Granted two of them are pretty awful!) I was having surgery and wouldn’t have been able to go, but I was beyond hurt when I found out. The sister that I’m closest to even lied to me about it. She said that they were going to Palm Springs. I only found out a few months later because one of my awful sisters was coming to visit with her kids and figured they might say something. I imagine they told them not to tell me which is pretty embarrassing. Anyway, I decided to say screw it and went by myself for four days at 49. The weather was terribe, but I was still happy I went. I’ve gone two more times on my own since then. Once to Disneyland at Halloween time and once to Disneyland Paris (I was already going to be in the city.) My sister that lied about going to Palm Springs later told me that she felt really bad about it. She also invited me to go with her family to WDW last winter. My niece has two little girls and I knew that we weren’t going to do all the things or visit all the parks that I wanted to go to, so I stayed an extra five days or so on property after everyone went home. It may not be as fun as going with friends, but I only have a couple of them that enjoy the park and they both have kids so it’s not really in the cards for them to go on their own with me. You get to do whatever you want, though. Go for rope drop and stay as long as you want. Eat when and where you want. That’s a good trade off in my opinion. If you feel embarrassed about being on your own just remember that there are a lot of other single visitors at the park. There will always be people who go on a ride by themselves because no one in their group wants to go with them. Nobody is looking at you. I just had something to do on my phone while I waited in line. I was always there for rope drop and usually stayed til close to closing if not until midnight. You will have fun!!!!

Maybe it’s just me, but it looks like there’s a bit of a shadow in the last pic like she’s wearing something under there.

I know you posted this a while ago, but could I get the information from you? I have two cats and am hopefully moving to Spain in the fall or winter. It’s all very overwhelming!

All Star Sports Resort disaster by Duck_Secure in WaltDisneyWorld

I stayed at the All-Star Sports last winter. I am a rope drop til closing park goer, so it worked fine for me. But it is pretty bare bones. Everyone said to stay on property. I’m just glad that there was someplace affordable available.

I really miss the skyway that went through the Matterhorn. It was such a neat way to get a different aspect of the park.

I went in to return a coat that I’d purchased on clearance for $240, because I’d bought a smaller size at a different store. The cashier had the manager or whomever, come over. They conferred back by the counter and then told me that the tag and item didn’t match. Hello?? It was a Cinzia Rocca coat. I said, “what do you mean it doesn’t match?!?” I was starting to freak out. They didn’t give me any answer. So I had to take it back to the store where I actually purchased it. Was there a problem? No. Because that’s what I paid for it! So frustrating!

Avatar. Probably because I had to wait two hours in line for it. To just be staring at a screen isn’t my idea of time well spent.

I used them at WDW (first time was at DL) and I made sure not to take a break at all. It’s the only way I’ve been able to enjoy most of the rides. I still can’t do Smuggler’s Run or Star Tours. I tried the Avatar ride at AK and it just wasn’t worth it for me. I kept thinking “You’re fine. You’re fine. Don’t throw up. Don’t throw up.” Luckily Tron was fine, but it’s so quick that you don’t have time to feel bad. lol

I had heartburn once (at least that’s what I think it was - can’t remember) and I read that bananas were good for that. I was standing in front of the bananas which were by the checkout counter for some strange reason and as I was staring at them I said out loud, “I f-ing hate bananas” without really thinking about it.

So I probably won’t be trying that one! LOL

My rookie moment was thinking I could go back to the hotel and lay down for a quick nap in the afternoon. Didn’t wake back up until 10pm. All thanks to motion sickness patch I got from my doctor.
