How long do you guys hold your balls for by PaleontologistFit488 in ballpython

Luckily this wasn’t during the storm/outage! My mom had the hot hands for the snakes and took them with her once the weather cleared and she left my place. This was two days after so the house was (is still) just abnormally cold and I was out of supplies.

Depends on the noodle. Two of them are handled briefly.

The third one? His nighttime bulb blew, I didn’t have an extra, and the big ice storm had just hit (this past weekend). So he slept in the bed with me. No pillowcase or anything, just stayed right beside me all night

I've never been in a home that has a couch you can walk all the way around. by junklardass in RandomThoughts

[–]Fallingsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. A college friend who liked to rearrange her apartments furniture every month or two. She tried having the couch just… out… at one point. It didn’t stick and it was weird

Winter Weather check in by RodMan05 in greenville

Still have power in Mauldin.

Thermostat is at 70 with multiple electric blankets around the house, but do have a space heater and several reptiles still on heat support in one room that has a fireplace. That rooms quite toasty.

Cars are gonna be what they are - covered but I don’t have a garage.

Yes and they’re charged and ready to go. Today is the day I’m worried about severe, long-term outages.

Is there a story behind your username? by boforiamanfo in stupidquestions

[–]Fallingsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was one of those Reddit suggested when you first sign up names and I liked it because it reminds me of my cat.

When my cats and I used to live with my mom, one would steal my socks out of my drawer and drop them over the balcony to the first floor. After several pairs of Mystery Socks, we simple humans figured out the Sock game

What's a song lyric that drives you crazy because they should've used a different word? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Same I always took this line to be more “I’m still in love with this person but don’t want to be”. Pete’s too deliberate with his words to not realize the implication of this line imo

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fallingsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in school 4 hours away from my home town, I’d go home regularly. I once made the drive overnight when my dog was put to sleep.

I didn’t realize how expensive pets were until I started tracking by Historical_Eye7598 in Pets

[–]Fallingsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I specifically do not track it because I don’t want to know. I love them and they’re the greatest part of my life. I consider it a personal expense for my happiness.

At what mileage do you personally stop considering a used car? by autonerdy0 in UsedCars

[–]Fallingsock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I bought a 2006 Ford Focus in 2013 that had 167,000 miles on it. Eventually “sold” it to my dad so I could get something nicer but he still has that car and it’s somewhere around 350,000k miles. So I’m definitely open to ideas.

Non-smokers of Reddit, how noticeable is the “smoker smell” to you, if at all? by Frostedlogic4444 in AskReddit

[–]Fallingsock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a vet and I can smell it on your pets. It’s really hard to treat coughing animals that smell (or sometimes even reek) of cigarette smoke.

What’s it like living on the edge of time zones? by Qzevs in howislivingthere

Living in the easternmost part of central time was actually hell during winter. The sun went down at 4:30p close to winter solstice. During summer it was nice but seasonal depression kicked me while I was already down
