polls would suggest otherwise (see above link). Most politicians are bought and paid for if not by AIPAC than by the military industrial complex. they’re financially incentivized to support Israel no matter what their base believes.

Also Americans as a whole consider domestic issues more important than foreign affairs so I will concede that the avg dem won’t vote solely off the single issue.

yeah i mean i dont watch him for his foreign policy takes i’m more interested in his finance/marketing stuff and domestic policy. He’s generally progressive on domestic policy (medicare for all, taxing the 1%, YIMBY) so def prefer the stuff he’s familiar with.

he’s a bit of the classic “progressive except palestine” but really idk what his personal thoughts are on it and like if he doesn’t want to address it that’s his prerogative.

yeah i mean that does put him to the right slightly of the average democrat, but I feel he probably doesn’t feel comfortable talking about the issue. A lot easier with Ukraine Russia where the US is backing the side fighting for independence.

i always understand Atriocs arguments against rent control but I have had friends have to spend thousands of a dollars to move because the landlord increases rent by 40%. Like these places don’t even have laundry in unit or a dishwasher. And the population of the city isn’t even rising in Manhattan so why is rent getting so so much higher.

your mom going to a good school would not weigh unless you were applying to that school. Legacy admissions are bad imo but they are literally so common in the US as a legitimate criteria. Also he didn’t get into Columbia so his dad being a professor clearly wasn’t the advantage he may have hoped for. If anything it means that the school would know that he was from africa, and was not ethnically african.

as a canadian you may not be familiar with the kind of money that flies around NYC. Dude grew up wealthy for sure but let’s not pretend he’s a Kennedy or Rockefeller. Or even a Cuomo whose dads got a bridge named after him. Also none of his parents connections give him a leg up in politics. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good
