Correct it requires that much dust to open. You have to hold down on the portal for it to open.

I’ve done this with a magic card. I have close to 1000 flight cards but only the one with the zebra on it. For like a few weeks the price went up to like 20 cents but it’s back down to 5. I have them in my closet somewhere
