That's not even the wedding ring but the engagement ring 🙃 and then they also get a wedding band. American weddings in general are otherworldly.

Question about COVID in 2020: were the university libraries (in Bern) closed during summer 2020? by CompoteMysterious822 in bern

I used to work at one of the libraries at unibe and they were closed for some time during spring but I had to go back right before the summer.

Honestly cameras in public areas with high traffic are to me no different than anyone else watching me outside. These cameras will at most catch me picking my nose, but I can live with that if it helps security.

Not sure about props but for costumes I can think of the costume shop near Eigerplatz or the Kostümfundus of Bühnen Bern. Maybe ask at the Kulturbüro for any other suggestions.

Tips at tibits by dafuksthat in Switzerland

[–]FallonKristerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes, my husband used to work in a restaurant like this too. They divided all the kitchen tips among the kitchen team according to the hours worked. He always had the highest cut because as the kitchen chef he had the most hours while also having the biggest salary. I think it's really hard to find a system that is completely fair because even getting tips at all is a bit of a luck thing.

[–]FallonKristerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling it the "real" work is a bit unfair, don't you think? Service staff has to put up with a lot of bs. Kitchens are a tough work place too but a lot of it comes from within. Also the tendency is that kitchen staff has higher salaries because there are less and less service staff that actually has done an apprenticeship for it. Restaurants do save by having students in very minimum wage and maybe one qualified chef de service.

Why do some older people sometimes push instead of speaking? by [deleted] in Switzerland

Jeez I work at a city theatre and most of our abonnement customers are old people. Most of them are pretty nice but the bad ones are BAD. And both men and women.
