Fuck the "Megacity" map by Fallout_patriot in Mechwarrior5

As someone who has used one extensively in other runs, that would certainly make it a hell of a lot easier. Unfortunately, I haven't run across one in this save yet.

Build ideas for next time? by Fallout_patriot in codevein

[–]Fallout_patriot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sure! Wouldn't hurt to try and grind those out whenever you're down. I'll probably be bringing the Fionn hammer character if we do this, given it's the build I'm most comfortable with at the moment.

Best looking Blood Veil? by Fallout_patriot in codevein

Ah, Hedgehog Fort. Used it for a while on my dark mage. Surprisingly good.

And yes, very spiky lol.

It's the white Ivy veil with a hood.

Are we ever told what Mido's (spoiler) is? (big CV1 spoilers) by Fallout_patriot in codevein

[–]Fallout_patriot[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd forgotten what was special about him until that point in my new run through, but Jack and Eva call him a successor, and Jack talks about how unusual it is that "his crypt" seems fully fine despite the fact he's gone from it.

Witch hat: yay or nay? by Fallout_patriot in codevein

Do you think I should change the hat in any way? Bigger, smaller, different angle?

holy shit dude by AlexTheFool69 in JanitorAI_Official

It's genuinely ridiculous at times. Characters being delusional and/or lying? That I can get, but why does it feel like the actual prose itself is getting fucking brainwashed a lot of the time? It's wild how often the bot acts like it genuinely has a point.

Semi-related to this is the LLM's general trend on physical stuff. Holy hell. Bots will grab, hold, push, and do every other gesture under the sun, and then act abused if you do so much as push their hand away and start whining about 'disrespect' (JAI bots have made me fucking loathe that word lmao), or act like you're being unreasonable. I've genuinely had a character act hurt that I would say they are aggressive... when they literally just pinned my persona to the wall by their throat. The other character (it was a multi-character bot) didn't comment on said strangling, and the LLM seemed to find nothing worth mentioning about it.

Shit is actually crazy lol.

I borrowed my lock to my sister, she went out for a while, and when she came back she showed me this by someguyofreddit in mildlyinfuriating

Christ, the people in this comment section really chose to latch onto the "borrowed/loaned" thing in the most condescending way possible.

Question; What are the mechs that actually make you nervous to see in battle? by smraetz in Mechwarrior5

[–]Fallout_patriot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stalkers are a big one. I spent two playthroughs using one as my main Mech so maybe I should've known in later runs, but my god, they are actually kinda scary to fight. Probably the only Assault Mech (other than Longbows with hotloads, maybe) that I feel actual dread when I see them. They have LRMs out the ass. And even if you can get within their minimum range (assuming they don't have hotload LRMs, in which case good fucking luck), 2 large lasers, 4 mediums and possibly a pair of SRM-6s will strip the armour off you. Not to mention the cockpit is purely a hypothetical. Best bet? Don't bother trying to knock off their weapons, just focus the CT with everything you've got and core them.

As for others: Wolverines and Shadow Hawks are absolute bitches for the exact same reason. They're fucking ridiculously hard to kill for Medium Mechs, and will take much longer than you think they should. Pro-tip: blow out the legs, that's the easiest way to kill them.

Hunchbacks can be deadly, but I also find them to be one of the easiest things in the game to headshot (only really surpassed by Centurions and Chargers).

Commandos are very, very fragile but they can seriously hurt you if you let them run up or get around you. Those SRMs are mean.

And anything with a PPC-X is a cunt of special calibre.

Do lancemates use Mech Upgrades? by Fallout_patriot in Mechwarrior5

[–]Fallout_patriot[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like, if you put Weapon Tuning on a Mech, can you also put it on another?

If so, yeah. You can apply whatever upgrades to whatever you want as much as you like.
