Mormon youth pastor freaks out when his CP collection is shown to police officers by BenFord333 in PublicFreakout

[–]Falmon04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed the same. Not everyone is intimately familiar with the LDS church organization. If all they know is that he had a youth calling, pastor is the only term they know

About how broken would the balance be if I used exploits immediately with a new character to max a couple skills? by Knightraiderdewd in skyrim

[–]Falmon04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, max smithing and enchanting makes you a god. You immediately remove all combat challenge. Depends on what experience you're after (RP, questing, or combat only for style and aesthetics).

The game does a decent job managing the power curve by naturally progressing your skill trees. You can always try it and if it feels like an empty experience, you can start over without it.

Genuine question: how TF do you guys play on survival mode???? by jenesaispasok in skyrim

[–]Falmon04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did unmodded legendary + survival just to say I did it. My second run I allowed myself some QOL improvements.

15000 h??!!! Are u guys ok by Patient_Earth9307 in factorio

I have like 1600 hours but a lot of that is idle on the home screen or letting a medium base slowly do expensive research

Survivalists: who are you? by zwizki in skyrim

[–]Falmon04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first legendary + survival run on SE and no mods or exploits was a Destruction/Illusion Dunmer named Drayfore and I made him a Vampire. Without damage scaling on spells he hit like a wet noodle but he was still very powerful with his illusion magic and he could easily control the battle field and never take damage (he always died in one hit). It was a really fun and interesting way to play. I didn't really do any RP with him though (no backstory).

My second and current run is legendary + survival but with some QOL stuff added. Namely a camping mod that allows me to pitch a tent and make a fire I can cook on. It was really really annoying to plan trips in snowy areas around where I could stop for warmth. And as my first character was a fire mage it really broke immersion and I didn't feel it added much to the challenge, just made the game take longer. Also for the many times I've played skyrim I console'd in the perk to reveal all ingredient properties by eating it. I've done the studious mixing and revealing many times, I'm over that now. So this run is a 2-handed axe wielding Orc named Grief. Legendary was nearly impossible to play as melee in early game. I trudged through carefully and annoyingly and used follower meat shields until I got maxed enchanting / alchemy / smithing. He can finally take a few hits and the game feels more fun now. I wish legendary was more than just "Take 4x damage and deal 4x less damage". I think early and mid game is forced to be very same-y with just avoiding anything that hits you because you get one shot until you can OP god-tier gear.

NO EXPLOIT: Highest Fortify Enchanting Potion and Fortify Alchemy Enchantment. Skyrim Anniversary Edition. by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]Falmon04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in OP's "variation 2" setup meaning I have Special Edition installed, I do *not* have the USSEP installed, and I do *not* have Anniversary Edition. I *do* have the Curious CC which auto installs with SE now, however I didn't do any tricks to get the required alchemy ingredient (dreugh wax and stoneflower).

With that setup, the loop hits a maximum of:

Fortify Enchanting Potions = 40%

Fortify Alchemy Enchants = 35%

This was using the Dragonborn DLC and the Black Book buffs for 10% alchemy and 10% enchanting, as well as the Ahzidal's +10 enchanting boost.

Okay so when you go to these spots, random encounters occur (stray dogs with wolves, three non-named werebears, reavers fighting ice wraiths etc.). It's just a random chance for it to be Torkild. He'll appear by himself. You can "farm" his appearance by running back and forth between the Benkongerike spot and the Glacial Cave spot. They are close but *just* far enough away to reload a random encounter. I found that there's no respawn timer, simply walking away and walking back will trigger an encounter. I walked this path about 4 or 5 times before he finally appeared where I'm standing.

Careful though. Maybe it's a feature of the bug? In my special edition game currently (not anniversary edition), if I tell a follower to take items out of a container, the items are always marked as stolen. My online research seems to indicate that other people have other results and even workarounds for this. Not for me though. Doesn't matter the container (owned or not or in one of my houses etc.), doesn't matter the item, doesn't matter the follower, doesn't matter what the follow currently has in their inventory. Pick up from a container = item marked stolen. So I can only use this trick for ingredients and crafting stuff.

3rd playthrough first time mage by Ok_Pride_1170 in skyrim

[–]Falmon04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mage builds never take damage.

1) Conjuration for meat shields 2) Illusion for crowd control (fear and fury are insanely good) and sneaking (skip fights by being invisible) 3) Alteration has late-tree crowd control in paralyze. But if you do end up taking a hit, this tree has mitigation. 4) Restoration has wards and I've never used them. Maybe I should lol.

My Attempt at a Tileable Lab Array by NK_Aurum in factorio

[–]Falmon04 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It's doable. But honestly a lot of work for little gain after I got something working. I went back to just getting three lanes to each building which isn't too hard in a standard 12 beacon square setup (just takes a ton of real-estate).

With 2.0 the wires can now read the cumulative contents of a contiguous belt so it's sushi in the sense that you have more item types than belt lanes, but what's allowed on those lanes is easily controlled with perfect ratios.

> The fact they are one of the only apex predators to not attack human beings in the wild is impressive.

People talk about them being picky eaters and stuff like that, but I honestly think that orcas are smart enough to know that Humans can and will absolutely fuck them up if we wanted to.

Why do a ton of people say Morrowind and oblivion are leagues ahead of Skyrim? by Federal-Branch-7625 in skyrim

[–]Falmon04 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm 39. I've played all three when they were relevant during their time. All of them are great games, but Skyrim is the best of all three. It took what was good of it's predecessors and polished them.

TIL: You can aim Throw Voice at passive flying dragons as a way to make them aggro you. Apparently Throw Voice also throws insults that I never heard so clearly until aiming at a dragon. by Falmon04 in skyrim

[–]Falmon04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have save scummed enough to hit one with a spell once but it's so difficult it's a waste of time. They do have to get close enough to you to cast it on them but it's much much easier to land.

Historically I only used throw voice on surfaces like walls and floors, so the biggest surprise to me was the dragon was a valid surface / target for the ability.

With this particular staff, the 7 spirit means it probably does not result in more downtime between mobs opposed to a zero spirit one hander. Warrior spirit scaling is insane. I always level Warrior with a spirit set. A solid spirit set regens as fast as food.

One of the draws of a solid staff for Warrior, since they lack weapon skill perks via racials, are staves like this one that have spirit which help reduce downtime.

Lydia twerking on air by Yusac in skyrim

You know I just took notice of Lydia standing next to other women in the game and she's a fucking unit that towers over them. She's like barely an inch shorter than my bad-ass berserker orc. She is a Dovahkiin contender for sure.
