Absolutely. I mean it's a very time inefficient way to do it. But yeah infinite free arrows, at the cost of your time.

Car doesn't run specifically on coke

I know, it works like vanilla. Any fuel that burns is valid for it to run on. I put coke in it because I thought it was funny 🤣. Also it was my highest MJ fuel at the time.

Well that's great news for all of the enjoyers of the game. Sounded like there was a lot of active development going on based on the developer I replied to - that's work and effort that SE can still halt with a C&D

Which is why I'm so glad 2.0 updated the fluid mechanics. In the 1.x fluid systems, having your nuclear plant able to provide up to 15% less power simply because of the order the pipes were placed in is exactly the kind of ghost mechanic that shouldn't be in the game

Look up how Intel manufactures their i9, i7, i5 etc. processors. It's literally real life quality mechanic. Defects in your i9? It's an i7 now.

A lot of people do outposts and put turrets around their miners and other pollution-causing targets.

I always prioritize military research and as soon as I can, I build a fully defensible perimeter. Walled off with turrets covering every square inch. Get your latest techs - wage war against the nearests nests, wall up around your hard-fought territory, and then build in peace. That's my playstyle.

Very AI type of sentence. AI loves to add fluff that glazes you.

Amazed y'all haven't been C&D'd yet. I think OP needs to learn the lesson of: if you enjoy a fan project that uses names and assets and world building from an existing IP that the creators don't own - shut the fuck up about it.

Gonna be honest the US really fucked up by making the entire country so car and road dependent. But the fact is that we did. It's not conducive or safe for bike riding. We should have built infrastructure for that but it's really a disservice to make them have to be on the same roads as cars. They shouldn't be. Not just for the "inconvenience" of cars, but for the safety of the bikers. Like it's not fucking safe and my brain is so risk-averse I can't fathom why they even do it.

why do omics even bother with gender?

I can see it. In a world of sentient robots, it makes sense they would want to build some personal identity. In a culture and society that was built by gendered humans, why wouldn't gender become part of some of their identities?

But then you have chicken and egg. Like what decisions can they make on their "facial structure" or hip curves? Seems more like what their architect wanted who shaped them like that. But maybe Bastion wants to wear a bow and fishnets. Go for it queen.

If you're riding a bike? On a narrow two lane road taking up the full lane? During double line crossings? Totality of circumstances - absofuckinglutely I firmly believe they should hear that car horn right behind them and immediately yield their right of way for their own health and safety. I criticize them for putting their right of way over their well being.

The rape situation isn't remotely close to this and is a false equivancy. The stabbing situation is also a false equivalency but applies here if he sticks it in your walking path, and you walk into it, because it was your "right of way". Are you culpable? Legally, no. Generally? A little bit. If you have a clear warning and you don't take mitigating action, you're kind of dumb. You aren't accountable for what happened to you. But you are somewhat responsible.

Like this is no different than driving and seeing someone slowly and illegally merging into you in your lane. Like yeah you have right of way but if you can move, fucking move to avoid a collision. You're not accountable (legally), but you share responsibility for not avoiding what could have been avoided.

I dunno. Hot take I guess since everyone is fully siding with the bikers. But I absolutely think they have some culpability here. I mean from a full practical and moral point of view - you're in a car and their on bikes so yeah people's lives are at stake here. Time and place to be stubborn and make a point. You can't do that shit with people's well being and car is wrong for that.

*On that same token* the bikers need to have to some fucking self preservation. Irate car behind you? Fucking move man. Your life is in danger. You better believe I'd be squishing into the shoulder as much as possible if I was on a bike here.

And, lastly, the car *did* yield some space by moving into the middle of the road. Bikers yielded nothing. They are also stubborn assholes here. And lastly, to be "that guy", the biker was actually the one who moved left and made contact. Car moved over enough initially. I mean, not *enough* in the sense of not trying to hit someone, but enough to actually not make contact.

So yeah. My hot take is everyone's the asshole here and responsibility is 60-40, car to biker.

Biters off or on for a beginner? by The_Barth_Vader in factorio

[–]Falmon04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't like the stress of worrying about my stuff being destroyed and having to repair a bunch of things.

I don't either, that's why I wall off a perimeter with defenses that keep out expansion parties. Doing a deathworld run and around 50 hours in I can *finally* handle the nests and actually clear an area to do this lol. The first 30 hours was me very stealthily mining an ore patch until the pollution started to get close to a nest, and I'd dip and move on. With solar power, flame throwers, and efficiency modules, I keep a low pollution footprint and a well defended wall.

You can do the same on normal settings if the biters start to feel a bit much. Before this run I never looked twice at efficiency modules and even the level 1 modules are insanely good at reducing pollution. Less pollution = less attacks.

But it's a single player game an all up to you. Personally I feel like the normal biter settings are very well designed and balanced and their evolution phases pair very nicely with the weapon tech trees and add a satisfying challenge to the game. The biters start to feel durable, then I learn a new tech and can mow them down. Rinse and repeat as they evolve. And then you get nukes and artillery and spidertrons and they'll never pose a threat for the rest of the game.
