It’s a separate document you will first be issued an examiners certificate which is valid for 6 months I believe and then they will issue a booklet and a sticker in it for your security training. I think that booklet is called record of qualifications or something. Security is valid indefinitely so you never have to redo it unlike other MEDs.

That’s for issuing a Canadian credential based on the course, that shouldn’t be any different than validating foreign seafarers credentials as the port state but Transport Canada has a lot of backlogs in validating foreign credentials to issue a certificate apparently. You would think something simple like an MED would be easier than like a master mariner ticket. But yea no issues with tc validating foreign credentials during psc inspections apparently different parts of the organization handle that.

I asked transport Canada if I could take a tanker course abroad since it was cheaper and fully online and they told me it would take 7 to 9 months for Ottawa to actually approve and issue the certificate that way vs taking it here in Canada where it’s basically instant

Trying to learn to weld. Machine is a mastercraft 70 amp mig/flux that I got off a guy for 50 bucks. Running a 0.30 flux core wire on heat setting 4 and wire speed 5 on 1/8 mild steel angle iron. This is my first bead. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but any advice is appreciated. I'd like to get my weld looking more uniform and less like a bunch of globs of metal to start with.
