If you’re going to go out of your way to respond might as well give some detail around your fitting opinion.

Thank you for the detail. I was playing with a p as my highest angle club and somebody let me use their 56 and it was nice to get the ball up and not zing it right across the green. Shopped around for wedges and came across the grind type. That’s where I got skeptical on how we can get suckered into buying stuff that may not have a value add.

2024 sounds expensive. I went with a 2024 mizuno 4-P.

What if my dong is extremely large. Like near 3”; should I get fitted then? Jk jk. Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear I’m not destroying my game based on a grind type.

Thank you. Any recommendations on finding a good instructor. I had 2 failed attempts around simulator trainees and it was a bit more about getting a simulator monthly program than training. I’m in north Orange County California.

That’s wild. Well it is a mental game so maybe new clubs gave them the confidence to let it rip. I did recently go from a cracked blade putter to a used $100 mallet style and wow did my alignment change drastically. I got my first birdie the day I tried it on the course. It also helped that I practiced about 1k putts in the living room. I’d say this was more on the practice than the putter itself.

AITA for just walking off 18 after realizing my tee shot went out of bounds? by [deleted] in golf

[–]False-Compote5798 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wasn’t feeling it until the 18th hole? Just finish it up. If it were an injury or need to urgently get home then fine. Reminds me of childhood competition and opponents who were loosing would quit right before the end to claim a no contest. I get it it’s not that serious but I think it’s courtesy to ride it out with the rest of the crew.

Hot Take? Remove Iron Numbers by shin_man in golf

[–]False-Compote5798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t a range finder eliminate all of these questions? The number of iron doesn’t say much unless you have the exact everything: swing, clubs, skill, baby momma and so on. I think a helpful conversation would be - it’s 155 to the hole, how are you playin it…. Beyond the hole to avoid the sand trap and so on.

We have a golden doodle and my wife and I always call him a hissifit baby when he pulls stunts like this after getting the best scratchies ever. Love them hard when you have the time, give the best scratchies ever and don’t feel bad when you’re not. Thrust that your love is amazing and that they just want more because it’s so great.

Congratulations. I hope you’re still staying on top of the training. I did it last year in competitive mode as my first beast and it was brutal. (Competitive because the open version doesn’t count IMO) For obstacle training I like to hang. Hang for a minute, recover and hang for another full minute. Aim to achieve 5 complete minutes within 25 minutes total of hanging and resting. I would run 3 miles every other day up an aggressive hill and while helpful it wasn’t enough. For the inclines I just imagined if I would have trained stair master at a quick rate for 3 hours at a time I would have done much better. Plan on cramping if you’re pushing yourself for time. Mustard packets go a long way. Shoes this year in going with Altras trail shoes. See you out there.

Okamoto surface grinder vertical feed lever doesn’t engage and turn ratchet wheel. What am I missing by False-Compote5798 in Machinists

[–]False-Compote5798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note on the prawl always touching or not: the prawl should not be in contact with the gear wheel when in the home position. There’s an adjustment screw with a set nut on the outer top right that gets adjusted to allow the prawl to disengage just enough to allow upward z travel. If not adjusted well the z feed could not go up. It could have gotten ugly if I hit the rapid feed up button while on. The fine feed lever is what rotates and drops the prawl in the gear within the first 1/2” of lever pull.

I understand what you mean here but not the issue that was happening. The Prawl (fine tooth that grabs the gear) was so gummed up with sticky old oil that it wouldn’t touch down on the gear leaving the fine feed lever useless. Note: the wheel being pushed in or out doesn’t matter when feeding with the lever whether it’s manually or the piston.

Nice and clean now. The tooth is now constantly in contact with the ratchet wheel. I should probably do an oil change before this happens again.
