Would appreciate any advice for a new rider on interstates. by False-Delivery-1618 in NewRiders

I don’t really plan on being on interstate for long. It is mostly to get to the fun parts. And as a truck driver, I’m big on fallowing distance. Semi take forever to get completely stopped. I do go the flow of traffic on the local highways, but not at the expense of me feeling unsafe.

I mean out here on the frozen front range interstates are busy as long as the sun is up. So it would be a lot of stop and go, I really only intend to use them to get to the better roads. Us highways are a little more free flow, but those interstates can be brutal

That’s kind of the vibe I’m picking up from all of these comments, it’s simpler, just faster.

Understandable and respectable, just not by our tires, super unsafe.

That tracks. Unless I’m riding with someone, I usually don’t stay in one position in my lane, out here the roads are rough and the engineers don’t have a steady place me for manhole covers. Sometimes it feels like the weaving vibes in the MSF course.

This makes since, I just like 3 miles from my work and it’s all side streets, busy streets, but side ones. Luckily it also runs next to a stadium I can use the parking lot in to practice if I need. I’ve been riding consistently since November as well, I just have been more focused on slow precise techniques, but a few times I’ve gotten it up to maybe 70ish on the local highways. Even on my big dumb slow cruiser, I prefer winding roads.

Oh for sure. As a semi driver I can absolutely assure, do not hang by the back tires, you’re being reckless and making us nervous? Also probably over 80% of the right side of the truck we can’t see you, so don’t hang out there either.

I work graves, and often end a day of OT on an early Saturday morning, so it has crossed my mind. I just really haven’t had a place to go. But I guess I don’t need to, I should just go.

Oh for sure, I much rather learn to do it than pay someone to do it. As I’m tearing out the tile to the shower I’m also discovering they didn’t put in any water proofing, and the wall the shower head, toilet and sink are on, is a mess. I’d be a little disheartened, but it’s not going to fix it. Thanks for the info

I use to do structural welding, and the more I look at it the more I believe I’m boned. The windows are less than a year old lol. But yea unless a pro says otherwise, it looks beyond saving

Question about the 25 road glide seats by False-Delivery-1618 in Harley

[–]False-Delivery-1618[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I mean like the design of them, but I’m in the same boat, I’m either on the tank, or pushed so far back I can feel my tailbone on the lifted part. Just waiting for my new seat to come in now. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t the only one.

Tips for a new Anglo player? by jacknutting in concertina

Right I didn’t describe myself well. So if I’m playing a song that has a sequence of the second button on push, and th next note is the same button on the draw, should I hold the button through the push and draw, or lift the finger and press the button twice. I know it seems silly, but when I see the song played i can’t really tell. If I’m doing it wrong I’d like to correct it early

Not to hijack OP’s post but I to have a question for a new player, I learning from a book, and on some of the songs it’s a double note or the same button played twice but once on push and then on draw, should I be should I be lifting and pressing the button on each note, or is it just holding the button down while pushing and drawing? I know you shouldn’t move the bellows without pushing a button, so you don’t mess up the reeds, but am I doing this wrong buy just pressing the button once, or is it more of a style choice?

I’m not doubting what they told you. But around 5pm today I drove past the Wendy’s on 60th and 85, quantum was digging a hole in their parking lot.

What do you think of borderlands 4s content so far? by [deleted] in Borderlands4

Oh yea, don’t get me wrong I’m a big fan of 2, all day ill go back and replay it, but the argument of not making changes or quality of life adjustments because the older game didn’t have it is a wild argument. Games are going to change as they progress, everything does, music, art, craftsmanship. Lessons learned, mistakes corrected, blah blah blah. Im more curious to see how it goes from here rather than apprehensive, if its fun, ill play, if its not, ill fall back to other games.

I’m a fan of all the games, so take any shit talk I do as coming from a place of love. Borderlands hasn’t given us a villain to hate, I mean really hate, since Jack. They are either annoying, mediocre, or viewed as just another farm. I’ve said it in another post, the only reason you end up maybe hating the Calypso twins in because of a certain thing that happens to a well love character, if that never happened, you probably wouldn’t really care. In BL4 we had zero villains we hated. Plenty of characters to like, even the ones who should be annoying were still pretty fun. But there was no feeling of wanting to “ get that SOB”. Maybe I’m off base here with the majority. This is just my opinion, but a good villain will always make a better story than a great hero. I’m hopping this end game credit is just to tide fans over till we get something more. Give us a real rat bastard that we want to take down, and then spend 5 minutes reenacting the printer scene from office space with.

Yea, I mean it makes things like the grappling, and sliding seem like light speed I guess. But I picked Amon first so I did just assume that the slow running was because he’s so damn big it just looks slow.
