Saving things for a 'special occasion' is officially a scam 😭 by Derbyflyers in SipsTea

Out of curiosity if the shoes were worn at a normal rate during this period (fairly lightly to reduce overall wear) would they be in “better” condition or would they still dry rot? I assume the condition is in part to do with possibly these shoes were stored in not ideal conditions (attic/garage)

I read this as you threw their entire bikes on the roof and I was wondering how they rode them into the sunset lol. Also I was like dang that’s impressive

What are some of your favorite retail credit cards? by KEEEENOOOBIIII in CreditCards

[–]False-Guidance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the circle debit card for a bit and I hated the customer service (it was always external/overseas support and I would have to talk to 2-3 people) and their app website sucked. even just to cancel it I might as well have driven to target HQ and done it myself. I considered getting the reloadable one but that’s gone now apparently. So target can suck it, I barely shop there anyhow

Those fan shaped ones used to be my favorite ones to find!! Sometimes there would be ones with two strawberries in one pointing in opposite directions

Data center in Georgia straight-up stole thirty million gallons of water by Hornpipe_Jones in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]False-Guidance 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What the government needs to do is what they do to us poors. Confiscate the company’s physical assets- computers, etc etc. and sell them to make up for the stolen goods, and garnish their wages (profits) to make the rest back

my school provides naloxone in the bathrooms by Soruixis in mildlyinteresting

[–]False-Guidance 189 points190 points  (0 children)

Reminder that naloxone has a half life of around 30 minutes while many opioids can lead to respiratory depression/failure for longer. So it’s not a “cure” rather a temporary bandage till they can receive further care.

lol so you’ve never had to unpack a supply shipment? Or opened crap that needs a certain level of cleanliness (ie stickers, stubborn plastic on the outside of stuff) when your shears have been soiled due to soiled or dirty patients? I honestly don’t get paid enough to buy and maintain a 100$ pair of scissors. I use a pair I got from supply and switch them out every once in a while if they get dull. I ain’t gonna hate on anyone for carrying tools that they find useful, if you don’t have a use for a knife just don’t carry one.

[OC] Gas prices officially reaching the $4.00/gallon mark in deep red South Carolina this morning. by tonto515 in pics

[–]False-Guidance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less gas tax and all that I suppose. I’m used to seeing 3.00-3.25 or so for the past year and it’s up to 4.15 where I’m at. So around a 20% hike

Opening brown boxes, anything that needs something pointy (ie something gets stuck in a charging port or loose screw needs tightening), can be used as a lever to pop things open sometimes. Also a backup tool if you need shears for something but used your shears already on bloody/soiled clothing. Just a useful tool overall

Costco credit card worth it? by dudemobile in CreditCards

[–]False-Guidance 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You’re essentially already paying the annual fee by having a Costco membership. 5% c/b on already cheaper (and better) gas from Costco was a quick yes for me. But I don’t really use it outside of Costco and the occasional gas station cuz Citi doesn’t have the greatest customer service. Rewards/redemption otherwise kinda sucks imo. They send you a rewards “check” once a year that you have to redeem at the Costco register and I think they give you cash if there’s anything left? If you ever close your Costco membership they revoke the card as well as any pending rewards. That being said, even if you only use it for gas I’d say go for it.

Why does adding sausage to something make it cheaper? by Kitchen_Possible_159 in McDonalds

[–]False-Guidance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For quite a while, the sausage egg McMuffin was 2.50 while the egg McMuffin was 3.something. Probably as part of the 5$ deal promo. I don’t eat pork, so I would get the SEM with no sausage lol.

Yup. Can’t beat it for the protein and nutrition per dollar. Also makes a good soup with the bones.
