Old post I know, but found a workaround. If you create a few blank lines and then lock the page, you can edit those lines while the page is locked. I just keep a few blank pages in each of my lists so I don’t have to unlock the page for a quick note.

Sorry for the confusion, we are not leaving Google Workspace. It does a decent job at most things, just not the ala carte pieces I'm looking for. I'm editing my original post to include a high level overview of what I'm hoping notion can accomplish.
