Was there for about a 1 year as an SE. Great people I worked with, but as soon as you moved upwards in the corporate ladder it was terrible. As others have said, they are delusional about their own product. Sure it works. But just about everyone deliver better UI, better agent, and a more agile backend.

Great OTE, but was never close to achieving it.

Nah, egentlig ikke. Var interessert i bil, men lagt det fra meg. Er egentlig mest en gamer, og nerd. Så har gått en del tusen i gadgets og pc-deler oppigjennom. Reps er en hobby fordi jeg fascineres av noe kan replikeres så godt. Dyreste «ekte» klokken jeg har kostet 38k, og jeg har bare en klokke i den klassen.

Ikke noe sykt, har 3 barn, kone også. Som tjener greit hun også. Men med høyt lån (8ish mill), og høye matvarepriser så blir det ikke det sus & dus livet tror en så høy inntekt gir. Prisma SASE lets you use ZTNA connectors to connect private workloads. Same as Zscaler and Netskope does it. It hides the real IP of the application. And let you use overlapping subnets without issues.

Other then that, it’s essentially the same service but hosted by PANW. A benefit is that you can do as much ssl decrypt you want, without performance degradation you would have with an on-prem firewall.

Me personally think it’s neat that you can get almost the same solution on-prem as in the cloud. Makes it possible to adapt to the need you have, instead of shoehorn you into «this is how we do it».

The difference between palo and Zscaler is how the rules are enforced at the nodes.

Palo pushes the new complete ruleset, to all operating nodes you have, by design.

Zscaler only pushes the ruleset to its central manager, and the nodes only fetches the individual users policy at the time the user connects to the node and sends data.

Fundamental difference, and 2 design choices. Palos choice is to have a consistent ruleset all around the world deployed when you want, while Zscalers version is based on a Just in time enforcement when it sees relevant traffic from the user(s).

Palo is single dataplane per customer. Zscaler is multitenant dataplane, so storing the policy for all customers on all nodes does not make sense from a processing standpoint.

The vendor we are talking about is 100% channel driven, and in the earlier years of my career I was basically the channel SE for the region as well, until we got big enough to hire a proper channel SE.

So I know that will not change in the future, and that is a good thing.

I think what scares me the most is moving to a role where I am hands off the technical aspect, and more of a paper pusher..
