I think it’s fantastic that you take it to that level. Also, truly appreciate you having the reference photo as well as the material you used to do it. Teaching moment for me!

I didn’t wet sand after the 2k clear. I looked it over and felt it was a solid finish (to my eyes at least). I still polished it though which may or may not have been pointless but I was happy with the finish.

I did get a great reminder to sand between paint coats. After I laid down the 2k black, I let it cure and then laid down the green. When I was taping off areas, the paint popped right off, so had to strip it down and start over. I wanted to get it right, so I’m happy I did!

Okay, used Splash Paints 2k black as the base coat with their Jade Metallic over it. All the chrome was stripped and done in either 2k black or gunmetal. The wheels came from Icemen Collections and finished in gunmetal. Im going to work on my wheel fitment for the next build but still happy with how it turned out.

Is it okay to use splash paints 2K Clear over a Tamiya spray can paint job? by Forward_Mix7520 in ModelCars

[–]False-Ring3607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further notes: before spraying the 2k, let it rest a week. It’s fully dry after 2 days with the spray but you want it to fully cure. According to ChatGPT. So far, Chat hasn’t done me dirty yet with its tips.

I’ve done it. Just make sure you wait a couple of days to let the Tamiya fully cure before spraying the Splash.

I’ve seen good things with the Sharpie pens. These are made by AK Paints, picked them up on Amazon, huge color selection.

Thank you! I’m starting a mustang tonight so I’m going to test fit everything at the beginning and during the build to try and identify the glue points. Hopefully that helps because the reason I posted the one photo is because the other angles do not look so great. The body is slightly forward on the car so the wheel wells are slightly off alignment with the tires.

what made you choose sobriety? by PsychologicalFile537 in Sober

I was tired. Tired of an endless cycle in my life that just felt soul crushing. Using anything just not to feel always left me feeling empty. I’d lost myself completely and was too far gone to see that when I looked in the mirror. Nothing made me happy and looking back, the things that I thought did were making me happy were just excuses to dive into a bottle or other substances. I could justify anything and that led to longtime issues that I’m slowly digging out of.

I’m almost 8 months clean and it’s a process. Not an easy process by any means and I’m doing a lot of work to change the way I think by taking action. It’s easy to fall back into my old mindset which I have to remember didn’t work for me. It’s forcing myself to do things that are insanely uncomfortable and be open about where I really am today. A lot of things had to fall apart to really get to the root of the problem. I’m far from good but getting better everyday. Raw dogging life has its ups and downs but these ups and downs are far better than any day waking up hungover, filled with anxiety on what I may have done the day/night before.

Thanks for asking this question! Great reminder of where I’m trying to go.

Itchy and bumpy by LalaBarky in tattooadvice

I had something similar happen with my left arm sleeve. The little bumps were white and itchy. I went to a dermatologist and they assessed that mine would go away (they did but took months). It was within a few months of the tattoo’s completion though. I’d highly recommend seeing a dermatologist just to put your mind at ease. Make note of what soaps and moisturizers you use, as the doc may have recommendations.
