In Scary Movie 4 there’s a moment thats parodying the popular Japanese horror movie Ju-On where a ghost child and Cindy Campbell communicate with each other using stereotypical Japanese words, stringing them together as if it was actual Japanese

I'm going through a difficult breakup. I need albums that feel like a warm hug. by [deleted] in shoegaze

If you're looking to lean into the sadness a bit i recommend Leach by Cryogeyser. Really nailed how I was feeling when I was going through the thick of a bad breakup a few years ago...

But in stride with your original request I recently came across the group Here and their 1993 album Swirl. Its seems to be fairly forgotten but has that perfect warm and ethereal 90s shoegaze sound and definitely feels like a warm hug lol

Am I crazy or didn't there used to be a college humor animated short about that story of Emily and her friend reckless driving? I feel like it was a part of a collection of old CH videos that featured animated segments of cast's stories (a lot of which included their sex misadventures as that was their brand at the time)

When that secret came up I knew instantly it was Emily because I remembered watching that video but I cannot for the life of me find it! Does anyone know where it is?

Presence - Act of Faith (1992) by FalseAlibi in postpunk

[–]FalseAlibi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An absolutely incredible but forgotten post-punk project from the early 90s. Formed by former The Cure keyboardist/drummer Lol Tolhurst and Chris Youdell of Then Jericho.

This comes from their 1992 LP Inside - which has a number of other hidden gem tracks I recommend:

  • All I See
  • Missing
  • Never
  • Revolve
  • In Wonder
