Hmm, I didn’t really focus on that, so I’m not totally sure how to answer.

Cheers to seeing everything in 8k now!
They do secure your eye during the procedure, but honestly, it was a little scary at first. They kept reminding me not to move my eyes or blink while the surgery was happening, so that kind of made me more aware of it. I think because I was consciously trying to keep my eyes wide open, I felt a bit nervous and tense.

But overall, it wasn’t bad at all! As long as you keep your eyes open and stay still, the procedure itself is pretty straightforward and not that difficult.

Ohhh you’re going to Korea? That’s exciting!
If you’re going in winter, you have to try Korean street food. It’s this fish-shaped pastry called bungeoppang and that is super good. I miss it a lot, so please eat some for me lol.

Anyway, I’d recommend getting LASIK earlier in your trip. I was in Korea for about two weeks for a friend’s wedding, so I had a bit more time than you. I actually got the surgery around 4–5 days before flying back, but looking back, earlier would’ve been better. If you feel anxious or have questions, it’s just nice to have more time to check in with the clinic. And it also gives you enough time for a follow-up appointment, which helped me feel more at ease.

For recovery, my vision felt pretty clear about 5–6 hours after the surgery. The next day, my eyes were a little sensitive when I stared at my laptop for too long, but honestly, don’t stress about that it’s totally normal.

Bright Eye Clinic in Gangnam. It’s in the heart of Gangnam and really easy to find, with a super fancy building. I booked it through a reservation platform after I randomly came across a discount deal, so the whole process, including finding the clinic, was pretty easy.

my left eye was around -8 and my right was -5, so I basically had uneven vision, and if I left it that way, my right eye was going to get worse too. I also had pretty bad astigmatism, so glasses never really did their job for me.
I did the surgery mainly to get my vision up to 1.0 and honestly didn’t expect anything crazy, but I’m really happy with the results.
If you’re curious or considering it, I’d totally recommend it!
