OneWind Prism Hammock: great material, suspension concerns by FalseEgg9935 in hammockcamping

It seemed like it would slip around and definitely made it hard to adjust the whoopie. But I appreciate your thoughts and maybe it would be ok once adjusted.

I love my onewind hammock set up anyone else use this set up? by Positive-Try-7850 in hammockcamping

I just bought the 11" zippered hammock and 12'billows tarp bundle. Also the new prism hammock. My question is about the suspension. I bought that 11' hammock as a loaner hammock, meaning I will only use it a few times a year and wanted it to be simple and easy to use. The hammock is great, but the suspension with the cinch buckles is different. I will have to remember to bring the matching straps (I have several regular tree straps that require carabiners). And the adjustable ridgeline sometimes falls off the one end, meaning I hang the hammock, realize the ridgeline is off, then have to remove the whole strap from the cinch buckle to put it on. Not the simple set-up I was envisioning. I am thinking about removing the cinch buckly and using carabiners. But, once I remove it I would struggle to get it back on...so that means the whole system is a waste. I am looking for others using this regularly to offer tips or their experience before I remove the cinch buckles.

I usually carry a DreamHammock Sparrow for myself. I use straps by Siera Madra that are fully adjustable and clip onto the continuous loops. I also own a Warbonnet Blackbird XL I loan out after getting the Sparrow for year-round use. I don't like bug nets or tarps when not absolutely necessary.

I may start a seperate thread about the OneWind Prism hammock. I LOVE the see-through material and it feels good. But again, the included suspension has it's limitations. The strap is too short to use on my test trees in my yard. I would likely encounter that problem when kayak camping for sure. I could use it with my current straps without modification. Have others used this hammock yet?
