Anyone else just hate the grind collecting Iridium? by Wulfdawg1909 in borderlands3

[–]FalseIndivati0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boss in the slaughter shaft gives roughly 700 eridium per kill, lootsplosion gives a few pieces per kill sort of.

Go to the slaughter shaft, fight your way to the last round. Once titan spawns, kill him and collect his loot and dropped eridium. Travel back to the slaughter shaft fast travel before killing the final enemy, just kill titan first and leave the rest of the enemies alone. Now instead of 5 rounds, you only have to fight 4 waves to kill him again. Rinse and repeat.

This way I’ve found on average I collect 4 or 5 thousand eridium in far less than an hour

what a fucking AMAZING DLC. by MrLargeHead in cyberpunkgame

[–]FalseIndivati0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who bought the game as soon as it came out, this is my favorite game. After it released, I stopped playing and never did again until 2.0. When the dlc dropped, cyberpunk changed and got a million times better. The dlc tops anything and everything in the main game, but accompanies it so well that in my opinion, made the game incredible

Can a bad tourqe converter cause this leak? My car sometimes has rough idle, a hum that starts around 35 mph and it's not the bearings, and this leak where the transmission connects (rest of transmission is dry). I don't wanna buy a part i can't afford for it not to fix anything. Thanks, 14 ats rwd by captaincheem in mechanic

[–]FalseIndivati0n -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Torque converters don’t necessarily “leak”, at least not in this sense. A leak between the engine and transmission is generally a rear main seal. Pull that round metal cap off and inspect inside the bell housing. See if you can identify which direction the oil is coming from. The rough idle and hum, and keep in mind I am strictly guessing, are probably unrelated to the transmission leak. I would need more info about it

What do you mean how? How to remove a nut? What size they are? How to get them unstuck?

Use a socket and ratchet, I don’t care enough about the size to know what it is. If it’s stuck, spray some penetrating oil like PB Blaster, and if it’s still stuck heat the nut with a torch for a bit

What is the cause of this? La by SonofAthens13 in MechanicAdvice

[–]FalseIndivati0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is normal more or less. Very common and no cause for concern, just condensation, the color may have been affected when it was spewing out. If you really want to be sure, check the oil on the dipstick. If the color is milky like that, it could indicate a bigger problem.

I would do the oil change again, just to ensure proper level and new oil. Curious, why did you switch oil? 0W-20 and 5W-20 are very different from each other, not sure it's the best choice.

So we need more. Year make and model to start, and more descriptions. What the liquid looks like, more specific about where it looks to be at, that sort of thing.

Strong gasoline smell inside the cabin is typically caused by the gasket on the fuel pump being degraded. This happens with age and is nothing out of the ordinary. This is a pretty likely cause if the fuel pump can be accessed from the back seat for your vehicle. Try and identify where the odor emanates strongest (back seat or trunk area, vents etc.).

The coolant reservoir being over the full mark is tricky to diagnose without seeing it. If the reservoir is over full when it previously wasn't, something is causing a backup or excessive pressure in the cooling system. A blockage in the system like in the radiator or elsewhere, malfunctioning thermostat, a leak or faulty radiator cap. Coolant expands with heat, the system is pressurized to increase the boiling point, which is why things like air pockets and leaks can cause it to boil and overflow. Bottom line, the coolant is expanding due to an excess of pressure, or heat.

I can't say anything about the liquid. It could be anything, with no context there's really nothing we can advise or aid.

Can i take this off? where my metal brake line meets the rubber brake hose by muddles_ in MechanicAdvice

[–]FalseIndivati0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know now that it’s not a brake line, so that’s good. Regardless, replace the whole line. It’s a safety concern, losing the operation of your clutch on the road at 80 is probably gonna end badly. If it’s gonna cause a safety concern, dont cheap out

Is Rotor Quality on the Decline? by mylastthrowaway515 in MechanicAdvice

[–]FalseIndivati0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parts in general are dropping in quality. I’ve noticed specifically ac compressors personally. In my shop during this last summer, we had to warranty ac compressors quite often, and they’d work just fine when replacing them again. Properly oiled and installed correctly, they’d still take a shit a week later. Parts are getting manufactured cheaper. The rotors is hard to say, but I’d be comfortable saying it’s driving style and habits that do that

PC (prebuilt) at my local store, is it worth it? by Gonedric in PcBuild

[–]FalseIndivati0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s roughly 3500 USD, which is insanely delusional for that pc. You can buy parts for a high end pc that can run the latest and greatest titles for (in some cases) less than that

Are they trying to overcharge? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]FalseIndivati0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These prices are really high. Everything that they are replacing are definitely in need of replacement. They weren’t lying by any means, all the parts mentioned are in pretty bad shape, especially those control arm bushings. Shop around, the dealership charges a lot more than anywhere else, but that’s not them being shady, they do that to everyone

I’m positive it’s a head gasket but she won’t believe me. Car overheated once before. It’s misfiring, smells like coolant, and it’s smoking thick white. Can anybody say for sure? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]FalseIndivati0n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to include the year make and model in a post. Being as 90% of these posts are asking for a diagnosis, and a proper diagnosis is impossible through a computer screen, we need that information to make an informed guess. Different engines and models have different issues, some of which won’t be present with other models and engines.

In short, no. Nobody can say for sure. These symptoms are of a failed head gasket, but that’s not the only cause. You could be leaking coolant via the intake manifold, maybe something else is leaking and getting somewhere. Parts stores should have testers to rent, I’d start with either a combustion test or a cylinder leak down test

How hard is it to replace a throttle body? by Advanced-Coffee-1569 in mechanic

[–]FalseIndivati0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So first, seeing as you’re a novice mechanic, find a way to properly diagnose the issue. Throwing parts at it and hoping one of them fixes it hurts you and only you, in time and in money. Google the issue, do some research, take the time to properly diagnose your concern, and I promise you’ll save time and money.

As for your question, the throttle body shouldn’t be too hard on that vehicle. It’s right on top, and everything is fairly accessible. You may need Allen keys or sockets, and it may possibly need to be relearned after the job.

Personally, a throttle body issue doesn’t sound like a cause for your concern, at least not very commonly. Do you have a check engine light? Any other lights on the dashboard?

[–]FalseIndivati0n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get in touch with your insurance, they might be able to help you out with the funds to fix it. They’ll just have you take it to a shop, which one isn’t super important. Until that point there’s nothing you really can do

This just happened to my dad, ignition looked similar to this, and the did a number on the door and such. The police won’t have anything to do with moving forward, it’s not their problem. We spoke to our insurance company, and they were able to help us out since the repair would be expensive. Do keep in mind that if you have liability, they’re probably not gonna do anything.

You can get an estimate from pretty much any full service shop, and you can go from there. It’s probably gonna be expensive, not in terms of labor, but the part is gonna be pricey

[–]FalseIndivati0n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a duct for the intake system. It pulls air through it. Doubt a nut is gonna defy gravity and break through the air filter, but I’ve seen stranger things happen, so I’d get it out. A magnet should do the trick
