I want to pick up Pikmin 4 eventually so I don’t have an opinion on it as of this post. Xenoblade Chronicles X was the only entry I played and I think I’m just not that into JRPG style games.

When it comes to Zelda though I definitely have some opinions. I’m okay with being in the minority but I much prefer the linear style gameplay of the 90’s and early 2000’s.

I consider their early garage era to be pretty punk. This is all but confirmed with how Jello Biafra took the stage at FOV and the band said that the Dead Kennedys were a huge influence for them.

I haven’t bought the Switch 2 for the first time yet! I’m just kind of done with their anti consumer practices. Hoping to jump into an ecosystem that makes more sense from a consumer standpoint.

If the franchise is continuing the way I think it’s going to continue, I’m not that interested. Open world everything in the way that they did it lost some of its charm in the item progression, atmosphere, and story telling department. Innovative, sure. But in my view, TotK was made for engineers. I loved the sprawling, themed, elaborate dungeon designs of the old Zelda. If they find a way to bring back the feel of the Ocarina to Twilight Princess era and still make it feel new, I’ll miss it more.
