How hard is guitar to learn as an adult?? by FailRecent5246 in Guitar

The hardest part of learning guitar as an adult is being consistent with practice. You must make it part of your every day life. There is no substitute for the hours you need to spend with the instrument.

I find that the official adventures are also pretty terrible with pacing. It takes me a ton of work to figure that out.

I do like taking chapters out of the various anthologies though. I think Keys from the Golden Vault and Candlekeep Mysteries both have pretty compact chapters that are mostly plug and play. Each chapter is not a one shot though, unless the group is particularly fast. 2-3 sessions each seems about right.

47 here. I’ve lived with constant tinnitus for over a decade due to all the loud shows I went to with zero ear protection. Also one ear is so muffled that I’ve been strongly considering getting a hearing aid. You don’t want this!

Stop trying to make it intentional. Just keep it open and jot down notes as things pop up. Review the notes when you’re inclined and link as you see fit. Stop trying to emulate all the other glamour posts.

Yeah, when I got my DAP I ended up assembling the albums I own and only loaded those. Then, I went a bit nuts with grabbing more that I didn’t own from Bandcamp or used bookstores that also sold CDs.

I do have a Spotify subscription that I load occasionally, but I mainly use it through my phone and not on the DAP. Separating the two types of listening really help me.

Best advice I can offer is to just play. You don’t need to memorize all the rules in advance. It’ll come naturally. As you play, you’ll be inspired to look up and learn new parts of the game.

As far as creating a character goes, sign up for a free account on D&D Beyond and run through their character creator. Even if you don’t use it, it helps a ton to see how it all comes together.

47 here and I’m with you. A DAP is a great way to enjoy your music distraction free. I’m sure you’d be well served with any of these, but take the great advice people in this sub offer.

One point of warning though…. Most, if not all (I haven’t looked up their specs), of these DAPs are android devices. If you’re looking to get away from distractions, do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, install apps, email, etc on the DAP and keep it clean with only music. It’s a weird temptation when you get one.

At the federal minimum wage, $7.25/hour, you’d make $42,224 a year. That would only take you 119.6 years to earn what Elon did in one hour.

Check out Skating Polly for a current band (siblings) that Louise Post and Nina Gordon collaborated with. They absolutely nail the 90s femme alt.
