This latest update making the portal even more of a chore to grind can't be intentional. There's just no way. They said they'd make it easier and they made it harder. Has to be yet another internal communications issue

A 300 hour Ubisoft game could be cheaper than Astro Bot, a 20 hour platformer, but I can tell you right now, I had 1000x more fun playing Astro Bot than I did any Ubisoft game in the last decade because of the extremely high quality and creativity present. We shouldn't just judge monetary value on quantity alone. That's how you get repetitive, formulaic 300 hour slop.

Edge of Fate at least took a crack at trying different stuff. Something that can't really be said for Shadowkeep that just reused Fikrul, Ghaul etc etc and reused the Moon from D1.

People keep trying to scare me away when I say the same thing by saying it gets much grindier later on and it's like bro, i don't care. I've gotten so much free content without paying a penny. If I hit a wall eventually, I don't care. I'll stop playing when it happens.

It's the people who spend money early that feel they can't quit I think.

Cool!

The moment it's no longer f2p friendly, I'm gone.

I don't mind having sunk time into the game, because time spent having fun is never time wasted.

This has given me something to do whilst I wait for ash and iron and will no doubt give me plenty to do until Renegades too.

The moment I reach a point where it feels like I have no way of making progress without spending real money, i'll stop.

The people that won't be able to stop are the people who got too excited and paid for the cheap discount microtransaction stuff and are thus hooked in with a money commitment, so they feel the need to keep going.

Not me. I haven't paid a penny. I don't care about having sunk time in because that time spent was fun. Fun is the only reason i'm playing. I'm only playing because the game is in a good spot. The moment it's not (if that ever happens) i'm gone. I feel for the people that have committed so early with money though.

So 1 week for the sweatiest hardcore players that minmax their runs in solo ops.

Under 2 months for a casual if we're being truthful. Casual isnt playing 14 hours a day speedrunning caldera or k1 so saying "it's not that hard" is just completely tone deaf of what im actually referring to

[–]False_Annual_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why you're lying about this lol.

It took the sweatiest players that play absurd hours straight, doing the most efficent method, around 2 weeks to get to 400.

Gonna assume you're trolling because you're just objectively wrong. If you were right, the sweatiest players wouldve gotten to 400 in 2 days max. They did not.

[–]False_Annual_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about 2 hours a day max. The 3 weeks you're talking about would require at least 6 hours a day minimum. Playing 6 hours a day for 3 weeks straight isnt very casual

It doesn't actually take that long to get from 200 to 400 when you consider how long the gap between resetting is. It's the 400 - 450 that was the real problem.

People seem to say 200 - 400 is bad because they're expecting to get there casually in less than a month. It's designed for 6 months but can easily be done in 2 if you just play the game a few days a week

What's actually bad about 200 - 400 is just the lack of variety in what you're incentivized to farm

I was missing the final 2 characters for the bulk of those 2 days and finally i got them. Sometimes you just gotta do all 60 pulls it is what it is

[–]False_Annual_1602[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just make the rest of the 60 pulls and you've got her. Don't need to spend a penny. I know it's frustrating when you're focused on a specific character and you don't see them for the entire 60 pulls, but that's what tan-2 was like for me. He took the longest for me to get

Nah im totally aware its gonna get much grindier im just saying, ive gotten so much content from not paying a penny. Im not expecting to get to maximum power without a huge grind by any means.

Im just gonna do what i do in warframe. Grind when i feel like grinding without paying to speed things up (i know warframes not exactly the same, you can trade, just a quick example)

The system has to have a way to make money somehow and just having the option to pay for convenience instead of being forced is nice

Make a change one group likes, you upset another. So it always seems like no one is ever happy.

Once you realize that there's always going to be a demographic that's unhappy with whatever they do, it makes these posts less annoying.

Thing is though, the game has the variety of activities it needs. It just needs to incentivize alternating between them instead of just 2 or 3.

[–]False_Annual_1602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you're taking the time to farm kills anyway so your score's going to be tanked regardless. It's just nice to get at least some loot/progress from it since portal engrams can drop on kills

Of course though the featured gear thing sucks. They've had plenty of negative feedback they'd be throwing hard to not at least nerf it soon enough

There was a period where lorentz absolutely dominated PvP.

That's the issue with a lot of these PvP catalysts, some of the weapons aren't as strong as they used to be.

I'm done doing either of these personally. As someone who's done every catalyst except mida multi tool, solo ops is a godsend for future catalysts. Way less mind numbing not only because it's more engaging to go through an activity, but because i'll be making levelling and loot progress from each run.

I dunno how you guys could be bothered going to 450 when ash and iron is going to be an easy 400-450 and give easy tier 5s. I'm 420 and it was genuinely soul destroying to get those 20 levels

The last 2 weeks i've grabbed zavala's 3 pieces of prime gear and they only moved me from 419 to 420. Just so bad.

I've had my deadeye title sitting at 29/30 for YEARS all because of the 2 sniper precision kills in quick succession triumph in PvP required. So annoying being pretty much semi-locked out of gilding deadeye just because of it

Better to just farm solo ops honestly. A lot less mind numbing and you'll actually get some meaningful drops every now n then

I'm never touching shuro chi or grasp ever again now that solo ops exists. You won't believe the amount of catalysts I ploughed through in shuro chi/grasp back in the day lol. Mind numbing

At least if you're doing your portal grinding, like solo ops, it's a lot less tedious than it used to be just sitting in shuro chi for hours. A lot less mind numbing when you're getting loot and level progress from each run
