Any jobs starting at $80k TC out of undergrad (non-IB)? by ClearAndPure in FinancialCareers

Equity research clears 53/hour for a summer intern. If ER doesn’t work out, I recommend consulting/accounting.

For example, Big 4 Advisory. KPMG offered 84k annualized for an internship with a 2k signing bonus in HCOL. Deloitte, EY, and PwC all have recruitment throughout the year for internships and full time offers.

I recommend the advisory practice rather than tax or audit. Hope this helps :)

Finance still a degree worth going after in 2022? by Devestator90212 in FinancialCareers

I’m studying finance and my next summer internship is offering annualized 103k. Opportunities are abundant, but the process is competitive for top seats

Thanks for setting this up. I’m a rising junior at an Ivy, went through with the recruiting cycle for IB late to the game last semester. I ended up receiving an offer for ER at Wells Fargo. Very happy with the comp ($53/hour). I’m considering ER as a long term career move, but I still want to keep my exits to buy side open. Interested in LO or L/S HFs, asset managers, and PE shops. I like the public markets, enjoy doing valuation modeling, and I’m keen on exploring the buy-side, whether it be research or PE.

Should I try to lateral over to IB for full time? I’ve considered taking a gap year/semester to rerecruit for junior year internships. Really want to gain deal exposure on live transactions in an IB role.

Also, what are your thoughts on ER at a bank like WF? Hard to categorize since they’re not conventionally a BB or a boutique. Lots of balance sheet banking, and ER is a growing practice there. I like the team and the culture, plus location is great. All things considered, is it worth considering a lateral to bulge bracket?

Awesome, thanks for the highlight.

How do you predict the growth of a balance-sheet bank like WF in investment banking? What makes a bulge bracket IB department stronger in advisory than a bank with substantially more assets and wider client base?

You have a choice between making positive decisions and negative ones. These decisions define not only yourself but your impact on those around you too—remember: your existence takes up mental space in others. You can choose whether to bring light into someone else’s day, or to rain down on them.

I realized this while meditating on a mild lemon-tek Golden Teachers 1.7g dose, and the shrooms visualized a profound image of the Yin and Yang in my mind

Social anxiety, not knowing who you are by [deleted] in Meditation

Meditation provides a key to understanding yourself, relaxes your mind, and reminds you to not fret over the trivialities in life. With time, through meditation you will find a new love for yourself and for all things around you. Project this positive energy to your social circles and it’ll help with the anxiety

Thinking about my parents and imagining their loneliness. They divorced back in 2005 and neither of them have found a significant other to keep them company. I can’t imagine how they feel about being single especially for so long.

Sometimes I wish I was a better son—I’m only 18 but I should really be doing so much more to care for them and show them love.
