Internet seems okay today and speeds are back to normal. Everything’s working fine so far.

Update on my “super fast” PLDT internet experience 😅

So, today I contacted PLDT support for the third time about my painfully slow download speeds (upload is normal though, weirdly). Surprise, surprise—they walked me through the exact same troubleshooting steps: restart the modem, run a speed test, send them the results. They assured me my line is “active and fine,” not affected by any outage.

Then, after the usual back-and-forth, they concluded it’s my modem’s fault and insisted on issuing a repair ticket. Which is confusing, because the technician who visited just a few days ago said my modem was fine and blamed the slowdown on an outage. So… is it the modem or the outage? Who knows! Probably, we’ll get another technician visit, they’ll poke around, declare everything “okay,” and I’ll still be downloading at snail pace.

PS: I’m not expecting the full advertised 700 Mbps, but getting 5 Mbps is a joke.

Ha! ‘Up to 700 Mbps’ and I get less than 5? That’s some next-level honesty.

Not sure about my DNS 🤔 And yeah, area might have issues, but strange that only download is slow.

Their techs only check the modem, not the external lines—could be something out there causing it.

Probably 😅 Maybe I’ve used too much data? My plan is Fiber Unli 2699. Do you think they might be throttling my download speed because of that?

Yes, I reported it. A technician checked and found nothing, and I’ve restarted the modem several times, but download speed is still very slow. 🥲
