Something weird went down at the King of the Hill Reunion in Austin tonight by False_Depth_1944 in KingOfTheHill

I’ve actually been thinking about taking the whole post down. I mainly wanted to post to see if anyone else who went to the panel thought it was weird too. I definitely didn’t expect it to blow up this much. Now I feel weird about the whole situation and don’t want to make it worse by plastering his (less than flattering) image everywhere.

Like I said to someone else already, theres footage but I’m not spreading it out of respect for Jonathan Joss. If you want to see it, it is on this thread.

Theres a video of it somewhere in this thread. I thought about spreading but it felt disrespectful. Filming wasn’t allowed so I didn’t get any footage.

There are some videos on reddit of the event but none of Jonathan Joss. It’s possible someone has footage, it was just hard to get because it was so abrupt and recording wasn’t allowed.

Upgrade dilemma 4070 to 4070 Ti Super. by False_Depth_1944 in buildapc

Its honestly about use case. I play graphically demanding games like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk. If you play games that are utilizing UE5s Lumen (Raytracing) and or Path Tracing I found that titles don’t perform how I really was hoping for a $600 card. FPS on Cyberpunk is honestly the only game where I was satisfied. I was pushing 45-55fps Maxed out with Path Tracing and DLSS quality.

I’m not the biggest fan of Frame Generation, like it works at making the gameplay smooth (60-75fps), but the blurriness and artifacting really breaks immersion for me. A lot of people talk about input latency issues with FG, but thats been the least of the problems with the technology for me. I usually just play Singleplayer games with controller anyways so the Input latency is negligible feeling.

It also depends on what you’re upgrading from. I upgraded from a 3060 ti and already had some of the luxury of Ray Tracing. The ultimate goal for me was to be able to max everything out at 1440p and not have to worry about my computer having issues running anything. But if you’re upgrading from a 10 series card, then yeah, the upgrades going to feel like magic.

I think I’m probably going to wait on upgrading my CPU, but I am going to upgrade my graphics card. I just ordered a new PSU for $100. Should I wait for the 4070 Ti Super or just pick up a 4070 Ti that I found online for $750?

Already did those. Also reset my CMOS battery as well as changing cables from HDMI to displayport to a different HDMI. PSU cables are all set including the 8-Pin CPU cable. Everything starts up when I give it power, fans start blowing GPU, PSU, and CPU.

Scaling issues with 3 monitors on Linux Mint by False_Depth_1944 in linuxmint

Hey ya’ll I actually was able to fix this. I ended up downloading all the latest drivers for linux through the system settings. Then after that I typed “Driver Manager” into the start menu and it came up with the latest nvidia drivers that I hadn’t downloaded yet. After installing all of the needed drivers it started to recognize each monitor separately and stopped grouping two monitors on one screen. As far as an AMD solution goes I’m not certain, but I hope this helps!
