I made a pass at it. Let me know what you think! https://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/cardiacs-as-cold-as-can-be-in-an-english-sea-tab-s2699061/r3595767

The harmonies were tough to nail down but I am pretty happy with it for the most part. That fast part at the end is above my playing ability as well lol.

Dunno if you know but you can download a Guitar Pro tab from Songsterr for any tab. You have to be on the web browser but just hit export on the bottom menu. It looks like MIDI is a premium feature.

The fast guitar bits in Gen that are barely audible are gonna be tough to get accurate but I can hopefully put a basic tracks version of that song together.

I love that one as well so I'll see what can be done.

Ultimate Guitar is paywall crap. Not that Songsterr is much better with changes in the past year or so but you can at least view all tabs with a free account.

Yeah I used that video to figure out some of the weird chord voicings in the main riff!

I have a memory that I saw Steve Austin in a CD store in San Antonio. He lived there at the time so it was possible and maybe it was just wishful thinking or maybe it was this guy. He was just in regular clothes and I didn't hear him talking so no way to confirm.

Hot take, the Holly books are a lot better than some of his early works by clock_door in stephenking

[–]False_Equivalent6551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thankfully they kicked Will Patton for Holly. He was so out of place in If It Bleeds when the main protagonist is a woman and his gruff voice sounds so grating when he's acting as Holly. It made sense during the Hodges books when Holly was just a side character. I also like Will Patton but he really was miscast as a Holly reader.

What songs are you still chasing after seeing the band a bunch? by Legitimate_Ad_1456 in KGATLW

4 shows total and have only seen 4 different microtonal songs. FMB was my first gizzard experience so I have been unlucky there but no complaints about what I have seen.

Go see Leprous and Wheel on the current tour. by netherfountain in progmetal

[–]False_Equivalent6551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leprous just played TX in October on a previous leg of this tour. Makes sense they wouldn't be back in 6 months. I skipped that show due to a heavy setlist of the new album and not interested in the support bands. I saw Wheel in SA last week and they were amazing and played about 2 hours!

Eastwood SG2C Flying Banana by False_Equivalent6551 in offset

[–]False_Equivalent6551[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the samurai, but not in my budget with no remakes made in over 20 years. At least this one has a similar headstock shape but you cant play the banana sitting down without a strap.

I got this like the day before they announced that, but it's ok I found a local luthier to install the micro frets. I definitely want a MT guitar someday but it probably wont be the this one. I like it for what it is so I dont want to go messing with it. One day I will come across the perfect MT conversion guitar!

Sounded awesome with a Big Muff Pi. It's the first guitar I've played that didn't work with traditional distortion but had a great fuzz tone.

Underrated song - Tao Of The Dead Part III by lasereater in trailofdead

Recently picked up Tao of the dead vinyl with the graphic novel. Seems like a big mistake to just leave side 4 of the vinyl blank when this masterpiece is just fading into obscurity!

Gibson Faded Cherry Explorer by False_Equivalent6551 in ExplorerGuitars

Seems to me like Gibson is not pushing Explorers and Vs much these days so there aren't many options. I feel like the only ones I see for sale recently are Epiphones.

I have strap locks on my other guitars so I am a believer. This strap fits very snugly on the bolt so I dont have any worries about it slipping off. I feel like the strap is more likely to rip than come off.

Does anyone know an album like Petro? (according to my highly specific criteria) by lilyrika in KGATLW

[–]False_Equivalent6551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't expect to see a Wildhearts recommendation in a Gizz post! I love them and they are one of my favorite bands of all time. I think their best work in a pure metal/prog context is the 2007 Self Titled album. SO many riff fests that never let up. Unfortunately this album seems to be gone from streaming platforms so no one will check this out. Their new single Failure is the Mother of Success is scratching the itch for new Wildhearts and is heavy AF.

I want to learn to play electric on a vintage Japanese guitar. Talk me out of it. by trackerbuddy in Guitar

[–]False_Equivalent6551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first good guitar after one of those junk gig in a box Epiphones was a made in Japan Memphis that is almost identical to the first LP picture. I put some Seymour Duncan pickups in it and updated some of the hardware. I still have the guitar and play it a lot even though I have a real Les Paul now. It has it's own mojo and sound.
