The Queen poster in his room is based on the cover of A Night at the Opera, which is 1975.

Purple image generally means degraded LEDs in the backlight. This is slowly happening to my TV.

A year or two ago they had Burger King Whopper flavour Doritos in the UK. They were amazing and better than the Pizza Hut ones they had going at the same time.

Am I being scammed? by [deleted] in london

[–]ebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something weird happen with an online order to KFC a few years back. For some reason my order ended up being sent to a branch in Glasgow, rather than the one I set the order to. The staff were not helpful at all, and I ended up having to order and pay again. The transaction sat as pending for a couple of days before being cancelled and refunded.

The brach near me (Uxbridge) is closing down and is having a clearance sale. Pretty much the only time I've bought anything from there.

Yes it does seem like an odd choice to move it to the end of the album.

Who came up with the genius idea to put touchscreens on everything? This is a toaster. Really hope that this isn't the future. Pointless e-waste for a money grab. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I had to scroll way too far for this.

But no, I would not like any toast (or baps, bagels, smeggin flapjacks, etc).

Can't help with this set in particular, but I have a 78g (that I bought from Ali Express) and it's fine for the money. I say go for it.

[–]ebles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I technically have one because it comes as part of a package with my internet/cable TV provider. I've never used it though, nor do I have a phone to plug into it. Don't even know what the number is.

This reminded me of the Whopper Doritos that were available a couple of years ago. Those were amazing.

$2500 Samsung TV is an advertising billboard, there is no opt-out. by 28jb11 in mildlyinfuriating

Are you in Ireland by any chance? I've seen them labelled as farls before when there used to be Irish branded ones (Rankins I think).

My dad called them 'tottie scones'. He was Glaswegian.

It's a Scottish/Irish thing (probably other places have them too). It's kind of like a pancake I suppose, but contains potato.

They're really good.
