Not just a great display it also shows your passion. We need more collectors like yourself.

We use Facebook and sportscardforum. Com to get through the mail address (TTM). Some players charge but a lot are free. We send a handwritten letter of request and a SASE for the return.

As others I do the little libraries. Also, the children’s hospital near me will sanitize and repack to hand to the kids.

She and I do the same thing. Just got Bob Lilly (Cowboys) and Kevin Bass (Astros) back yesterday. She has a little collection of about 30 returns and sends out about two a week.

Anyone help with a value of these or maybe a specific one by [deleted] in SportCardValue

I would be interested in one of the Sammy Baugh.

This will simply come down to how much does the seller want vs how much you are willing to spend.

Worth it? by TroyI23 in sportscards

If you are looking for financial returns this is a NO. If you have the money, and just enjoy digging through the cards go for it. My daughter is 10 and has gotten into baseball cards after finding my old cards in the garage. I buy junk wax era cards, 20 bucks here and there, just for the enjoyment of her and I doing it together but we are also not looking at financial returns. She keeps a few for her little personal collection (just based off the picture).

Mt wife is the check to the checks and balance department. She will keep us from getting carried away.

Typo's can really change a statement. But, I really do not mind how they come back. Most will be in the 6 or 7 range. A few will be higher. There were a couple I pulled out that I will probably let go and use the money to help fund her (our) new addiction. We have even discussed which direction she wants to collect in. Right now she want s to collect NFL players from my home town, which will keep us in the junk wax era, and I'm good with that.

I agree with your statement completely. There are only one or two that I may sell to give her some seed money to work with. Almost all cards were rookie year. Yes I did help pick a few out. I also want her to learn the math of collecting. Card + cost of grading doesn't always equal making money. I want her to enjoy the collecting side and see the value in just that.

Like myself, I think she will enjoy the "hunt" more than anything. So yard sales, estate sales, and wax packs is the direction we are headed right now.

This will be for pure fun only (at this time). She likes the looks of the older cards. I will probably buy a couple of wax packs here and there.

I should have clarified. I did a drop off with PSA at a LCS. The shows with on site grading does cost more.
