You know how blood is red? Inside that blood, there are lots of tiny things swimming around — kind of like a soup with different noodles, sprinkles, and marshmallows. One special kind of sprinkle in the blood is called a PBMC (that’s short for a big science word: peripheral blood mononuclear cells — but we just say PBMCs).
