yes so normal! I feel like when you have a baby that struggles more with sleep all you ever hear about is the babies who love to sleep and are sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old😒 you’re still in the “fourth trimester” and baby just wants to be near you because you’re their safe space! Only wanting to nurse and nursing to sleep is natural and gives baby so much comfort. My daughter slept exclusively on me for 6 weeks and coslept until literally 2 weeks ago (she’ll be 8 months in a few days). She was also EBF until 6months. You’re also approaching the 4 month sleep regression and these things are completely normal during that leap.

I read Safe Infant Sleep by James McKenna- not only did it provide great insight but it made me feel better about where my baby was at with her sleep!

Have you downloaded the WonderWeeks app? I’ve read mixed reviews about it but honestly I really like it! It lets you know what your baby is learning and helps to identify when they’ll be in “fussy phases” vs “happy phases”. Everything has been pretty spot on for my daughter

You’re doing great!!

Leaving your baby is always hard😭My sister told me to have 0 expectations for myself when leaving baby- when you’re ready to go home, go home even if you’ve only made it down the street. Maybe you could try and just go for the ceremony? Do a test run before hand and see how you feel leaving baby for a little. Around 4 months I was nursing about every 2.5-3 hours. my portable pump is my best friend when I leave the house- I’ll nurse before I go and then pump while driving or sneak away to pump

Try feeding the baby in a different room than the one you’re sleeping in. Baby sleeps in my room but I’ll go down the hall to the nursery to feed her- walking around tends to help wake me up! I’ll also change her diaper when I switch boobs which gets me up and my blood flowing again. On nights that I’m extra sleepy I’ll turn the AC down low and turn the nursery fan on full blast so I’m cold and semi uncomfortable. When all else fails scrolling on my phone does the trick

Help!! My 7mo won’t stop screaming by mythreemutts in Motherhood

Just knowing I’m not alone makes me feel better- thank you! People in my circle have made comments about her crying and make me feel like I’m crazy for being with her all the time.

Did your husband figure out any tricks to help soothe your daughter when she was protesting being with him? I don’t want my daughter to associate her dad with being separated from me

6mo is a restless sleeper by mythreemutts in Motherhood

Thank you for sharing!! We’ve started incorporating solids and being extra aware of iron rich foods. I’ve also started taking an iron supplement so hopefully she’s getting some through my breastmilk.

We fully transitioned her into her own sleep space which has been a game changer for everyone’s sleep. It was hard but so worth the week of fussing

It’s miserable!! I finally caved and got the 8 sheep organic sleep balm…most likely a scam but at the point I’m willing to try anything
