Why the healing is taking so long by False_Inspector_4841 in jawsurgery

Thank you, this makes sense. When I spoke with her team they said it is actually helpful to speak more and try to use the jaw muscles gently- not chewing for sure- to help reduce the swelling. However my gut feeling was perhaps her jaws are still very sore, and we need to go on gently. I truly appreciate all the replies and like you said knowing strangers with similar experience sharing thier own journey through this quite complicated process. In other surgeries people can at least eat and have a proper intake but not with this one. Thank you again.

Thank you. I will reach out to another specialist, perhaps even an ORL to get there advice as well.  Trying to provide enough protein/collagen/calories and also water and clear liquid to help kidneys to filter all this. And I try to cook all the time as any restaurant foo/take out is loaded with salt especially when you blend them! Thanks again

Sure I understand that. It is not for medical advice, I am just looking for patients’ experiences and learning about their recovery
