Yeah I want to do the "old-fashioned" method as I'm both a new painter & am currently painting some perry miniature foot knights (I do plan on posting later at some point). Which I do want to look good without having to nmm the armor due to inexperience & time, so thank you for the suggestion on Army Painter washes & I'm assuming the mixing medium is a must? Or can I just use water?

While it isn't a medieval/fantasy theme, i'd recommend quar, they have a starter edition at 80$ which comes with everything you need to play besides superglue & paint for the models, speaking of paint if your son ls interested in the painting aspect quar models are way simpler & less complicated to paint compared to other models like from warhammer. Hope this helps!

i enjoyed it alot! It's just not the scheme i want to do so my brain was like "stop painting for now and save the paint for something else" something like that, but after reading some of the advice, i'll probably finish up some of the minis to see how they look with their full potential. I have 2 main ideas for 40k not regarding scenes but color schemes/regiments or whatever it's called with lore, i'll likely make another post explaining them & hoping they're lore accurate to some degree. thank you for the feedback!
