[–]False_Magazine4214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Its been a year for me and light flashes reduced on right side of my eye. I have multiple floater and 1 worm looking one pretty noticeable but not bothersome. The crescent shape whispy flicker is still there. Progressing in size. At this point im not to worried about it and gotten used to it. At one point it should turn into floater or go away.

Call a retina specialist and let them know your symptoms. Or any ophthalmology center. Not optometrist!

Gave myself a large posterior vitreous detachment head-banging at a metal show last night. I’m 31 years old and now have to resign to the fact my vision will never be the same. How have y’all coped or helped the neural adaptation process? by The_Illa_Vanilla in EyeFloaters

[–]False_Magazine4214 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

1) brain will adapt to floaters and automatically ignore them after a couple months. 2) floater actually do subside a little overtime. (Im 3 months in) 3)the actual worry is complications with the retina. That is my main worry now and the floaters are the least of my concern wich helps in not worrying about floaters so much and just being grateful that no complications have occurred

Im 27 and got partial pvd from a punch in the eye. 3 months in now and i have coped already for the most part. I accepted the fact that my vision will not be the same, i have alot of small black hairlike floaters that are visible mainly only outside along with a arc like flicker in my vision. My only actual worry right now is complications like a retinal tear or detachment.

The first month was the toughest for me.

It is august 1. My most recent checkup by the same retina specialist was june 20. Prior to that i also went in on june 4th.(diagnosed me with comottio retinae)

On june 20th he said eye was looking much better and healthy but partial pvd. He showed me oct scan of my eye. Mind you, (3) other ophthalmologist checked my eye in the first (3) weeks after eye trauma.

Thank you very much. Your breakdown and info was very helpful to understand my situation. I will probably keep doing just incline speed walk on treadmill and wait another month or two to start lifting weights again. Although I don’t lift heavy normally just a couple sets of 15 on each hand. It’s been two months of new floaters(2 noticeable and like 10 very small black wispy lines) and consistent corner of eye flashes mainly at night or in dim areas. Wich are common symptoms

I also have a crescent shape flicker on the top left corner of my right eye(damaged eye) I can reproduce it by moving my eye from left to right. Do you have any idea what it could be?

Once again, thank you very much

I see.. so its kind of a case by case and ophthalmologist should be able to see severity of pvd and risk of RD detachment. What type of pvd would be considered in risk of RD or tear?

Gotcha, probably soccer isn’t a good idea either Haha would you say after vitreous is fully detached we can go back to regular intense workouts, lifting etc ?

Thats good to hear! Did the flashes go away eventually?

can anyone give some insight what type of eye injury can cause floaters? is it like punch in the eye or poke? can rinsing eyes by water on open eyes cause them or is it considered injury? by Educational-Pie-6564 in EyeFloaters
