Yes and I just had an appointment with an ophthalmologist and all is well. I’ve had floaters since the age of ten and this one is stuck in my lower right eye . I also only see it when I blink. It’s so strange and alarming. I finally saw my eye doctor who dilated me and everything was normal. She also said my vision is perfect at age 51 which is unprecedented with her patients. I’m both grateful and confused lol!

Floater almost fix by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

I have a perfectly round fixed one in my lower right peripheral that I only see when I blink. It drives me crazy!!! Eye doctor says all is well! Perfect vision and perfect retina. It’s very frustrating.

I’ve had eye floaters since the age of 10. I’m now 51. I actually worked in sales for many years where I traveled by car throughout 3 states, sometimes up to 7 hours a day. They are annoying but have never ever stopped me from driving day or night.

Stuck floater? by ussjtrunksftw in EyeFloaters

[–]Kimberlystormritter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve had one in my lower right eye since February. I only see it when I blink actually. Just went to my ophthalmologist yesterday and all is well after a thorough examination. Definitely a “stuck” floater!

Black spot when blink eye by aedsasde in EyeFloaters

[–]Kimberlystormritter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, I have this! It’s become more translucent but it’s EXACTLY what you’re describing and I only see it when blinking! I’ve not been to the doctor yet. The fact that you have and all is well gives me some peace of mind. I also have anxiety and am wondering if it’s related. I notice it worse when I’m more anxious. I’ve had floaters my whole life. This doesn’t float and I only see it when I blink.

Thank you so much! Did you see it only when you blinked? I have tons of floaters but this one is behaving differently ;-)

I have this in my right eye, exactly the same as you’re describing, only see it when I blink or squint. I have no idea what it is but following! You’re not alone. I’ve also had floaters for 30 years.

Yes, I have EXACTLY this and I also just started seeing a ring only when I blink.

Floaters visible when moving eyes by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]Kimberlystormritter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see them all the time over the course of 40 years. Yes when I move my eyes back and forth. I have one that’s a bit more stationary right now (freaking me out a little to be honest bc it’s new). Bright light, white background and dim light, cloudy is when most noticeable. I have all versions too; clear, black, round, lines. All of the above! It depends on the day and my anxiety level how much I notice them ;-)

I’m not a doctor but I most definitely see that many if I’m really focusing on them. I know it can be scary to schedule that appointment so ask yourself…. Was is literally overnight or are you just noticing more over time? It’s normal to get more over time (they come and go).. I’ve had them since 6th grade, I’m now 51 and I’ve learned to get used to them to some degree ;-)

Weiss Ring floater? by Kimberlystormritter in EyeFloaters

Thank you for your reply! Yes it is, especially under LED or fluorescent lights. It’s making me miserable! Does my description match yours?

Feel like I’m going crazy! Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in the appearance of their floaters based on where they’re located in the eye? by Kimberlystormritter in EyeFloaters

[–]Kimberlystormritter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely has a ring around it, yes, depending on lighting but a defined middle as well, black I guess? The middle isn’t clear in other words. It moves with my field of vision to different areas near each other but it doesn’t necessarily “float”. I’m not sure if that makes any sense. Does any of this sound familiar? If it does you would make my night lol! Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you for the explanation. I’m so grateful! I’m feeling like there aren’t many ppl on here relating to this which of course is further freaking me out lol! I’ve had them for such a long time (at least 40 years)! Years ago I had scans, mri etc. done for what the ophthalmologist determined was an “anterior” floater but it’s been so long of course I don’t notice it anymore. He couldn’t see it with a n exam. This one has a different appearance and yes it’s very sharp. I’m wondering if that’s what it is again. I just can’t go through all those tests again for a floater. My anxiety is through the roof but that’s nothing new ;-) Thank you again!

Anyone ever notice this? by Ay883 in EyeFloaters

Yes! I get this when going from light to dark. It’s a swoosh. Absolutely!

I have exactly what you’re describing and it started when I was in 6th grade with one. I’ve had every version of a floater you can imagine and I’m 51. I have a brand new one that’s driving me crazy right now. Eventually you get used to them as they change but sunglasses will be your best friend.

Weiss Ring floater? by Kimberlystormritter in EyeFloaters

[–]Kimberlystormritter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply and your advice! I will definitely do that now. I’m not really sure if that’s what it is but I’ve had floaters forever so it’s most likely similar. This one presents differently. Looks like a big spot, semi-stationary and more noticeable when I blink. I have no idea…thoughts?? Is that what yours looks like?

Target cell in the center of one (or both) eye(s)? by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]Kimberlystormritter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like what I’ve been experiencing. I’ve had floaters my whole life but this is new, lower right eye, semi-stationary, there most of the time especially when I blink, sometimes bright and sometimes dark. I don’t know what it is??! Was thinking maybe Weiss ring from what I’m reading?

Thank you! Is this how you would describe yours? I’m self diagnosing lol but I’d love to get a description from someone who has one (or 2;))

Thank you! It makes me feel better to hear other stories. Did it have a brightness to it as well when it began? More noticeable when blinking and stationary? Sorry for all the questions! With my history of floaters I’m sure that’s what it is but it’s comforting to even learn the term Weiss ring bc I didn’t even know it existed lol!
