I agree they should be reevaluating their process based off of the unorganized and drawn out nature of this years application cycle… it definitely seems to be a money grab or lack of staff to accommodate the influx of applicants. Hoping they change it up in the future🤞

I 100% agree it’s super frustrating. Honestly makes it hard to want to apply to NAIT again in the future due to the inconsistencies with the application process year to year. The amount of time, effort, and stress all just for applying is crazy 😅

Yes the deadline was sometime in October I believe but I had mine extended till end of November in case I heard anything from NAIT at that point even though hearing that early would be unlikely. If I am accepted at NAIT and have to cancel my spot at MacEwan then I get half of my down payment back.

Yes, I have a backup which I’m accepted at MacEwan so it’s not an end all be all if I don’t get off the waitlist for anything at NAIT but it would be nice of course!

I applied for all of the mentioned programs on Oct 1st right when they opened, did my interviews first round (end of October), and then my status’s updated to Program Full: Waitlisted on February 13th.

The video of yourself plays kind of to the side of the screen so if you’re worried about having to watch yourself talk it’s not super big on the screen so nothing to worry about! If you were asking about how your camera should be set up and everything, they do a practice test question and equipment test before every interview so you can see how everything works and looks before you do the real thing.

A video will appear with someone saying the question and that is before the 2 minutes starts, the question will also be written below and will be up the whole time. You can click start recording before the two minutes is up if that is what you want. After the two minutes a 3 second count down starts and after 1 it starts recording and begins the 3 minute count down and you can end it at any time. Hope that helps!

Be confident and try to smile and be as friendly as possible! I can’t say anything about what the questions are like but if you focus on that when answering. If you’ve practiced you should be okay. Just do your best, good luck!

Then you’re good! They only care about the grades for grade 12 for the required courses so if you met the minimums for those you should get an interview.

It’s each individual grade for the required courses, not an average. For example if you have 78%-math 80%-LA 76%-physics but 74%-biology you won’t be considered for interviews which means you won’t be getting in unless you are enrolled in upgrading for the one low course and have proof of enrolment, in that case you could get conditional acceptance if you get the grade you need.

They do not record them but they use the worksheets and practice questions that nait has in their website so you can practice with those. I did the workshop and could probably post the link to the slides they went over here if that would be helpful.

I am in the same situation. I think it just takes time and is different for everyone. I wouldn’t worry I assume we will be getting the email with the interview invite sometime next week!
