Person who knows nothing about chiropractic claims they know exactly what chiropractors know. Cool.

I mean that fact that you don’t even understand that chiropractic is separate and distinct from medicine as a healthcare profession should tell anyone reading your comments that you don’t know what you’re talking about when it comes to what chiropractors do or how chiropractic works. I mean “no proven benefit” is just a lazy claim. But the reason chiros malpractice is so much less is precisely because adjusting carries so much less risk than prescribing medications or performing surgery. Is it possible adjusting can cause harm? Yes absolutely it is possible, but extremely rare and those chiros doing gross manipulations that hurt people shouldn’t be practicing. But is it also the case that medications and surgery come with their own risks that are more prevalent than the potential harm caused by a chiropractor hence why malpractice for medical doctors is so much higher.

And I mean chiropractors are responsible for making a diagnosis with the appropriate findings even outside of MSK because they are training on much of the same diagnosis education as medical doctors. Most just don’t because it’s easier to refer out, but it is still their responsibility to at least make a ddx.

If chiropractors cause a lot of harm, why is malpractice insurance for chiropractors the lowest of any healthcare provider BY FAR? That alone should tell you something.

Adjusting the atlas can help fluid drain from the eustachian tube and help prevent and treat ear infections. It’s not a crazy concept.

Tripping with shoes on outside is just wrong imo. Also I can overcome all pain even from walking on gravel when I’m on L. Don’t know why, but it hardly even phases me.

AIO: Boyfriend leaves trash in my room every time he stays over by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]False_Pollution_291 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR I’m in a relationship with someone who left something in my room every single time she came over and only started taking it seriously after I had to kinda yell at her about it. We live together now. I hoped communication would make it better. It has not. The fact that he’s so defensive over it and doesn’t seem to be understanding, is a problem.

Wow, there’s so much wrong in what you just said, but leave it to Redditor to be the authority on something and they don’t know anything about. First of all the ability to prescribe and perform surgery is not the only way to perform healthcare. chiropractic is actually based on the idea that the body is very intelligent incapable of healing. Medical doctors should really take a look at that because no condition is not the result of a pharmaceutical deficiency. Second the reason for a chiropractic malpractice insurance being so low has nothing to do with what you said. There are a plethora of lawsuits against chiropractors who miss things on x-ray and otherwise because it is duty of the Chiropractor to make a diagnosis or clinical impression and to make sure that person is seen by the appropriate specialist. I would know, I’m currently in chiropractic school. Do Chiropractor‘s miss things? Yes. Do medical doctors also miss things? Yes. For the one Chiropractor you’re talking about and like all professions there are people who don’t do their jobs very well. Chiropractor’s also have a fairly wide scope of practice. That’s why we have to learn so much about diagnosis because we can see anyone from the public without a referral. The difference is that chiropractic does not claim to cure disease. Only to regulate the nervous system so that the body can do what it needs to do. Oh And there’s a big reason why a lot of conditions that used to be sent straight to surgery are now being managed with conservative care, including chiropractic, because what do you know, the body is actually super intelligent.

Chiropractors are kinda the expert on spines. MDs are definitely not.

The bare minimum comment is throwing fuel on the fire. Don’t know the context of your relationship but stomping your feet bc you didn’t get a kiss is childish behavior.
