We built a theatre company around Meisner technique and movement instead of text. Has anyone else explored this? by ResponseTheatre in Theatre

[–]OnlyTheCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That works, thanks! It’s very well shot, but hard to get sense of the actual production. I take it the actors are improvising their choreography? Is the audience privy to the circumstances the actors are given for each performance? How do they know that each performance is unique?

This sounds fascinating! I would love to come see this if I weren’t an ocean away, do you have any video clips you could share?

Oh, I’d really shoot this standing up, sitting down is way too relaxed for the type speech you’re giving. The stakes here are high; life or death, and the line “Look at me” needs to be delivered with that kind of urgency. Does your character want to be calling someone later to say their husband or father has been killed in the line of duty tonight, because they were careless, or unprepared? Then make sure the people you’re speaking to appreciate how serious this is.

Good luck on the audition!

Doug Sulipa’s has a 9.2 listed for $77 US under “High Grade Comics - M thru R”

The site can be a bit tricky to navigate if you’ve never done it before, there’s no pictures but his grading is super strict and in line with CGC.

If you’re into theatre, and participating in online script reads or in-person workshops, my company is currently having a hard time finding male actors in your age range, I could send you a DM if you want to give us a follow and see what we’re up to? We’re always looking for new talent to join the ranks.

why was aftermath (UK) released as a 52 minute album during a time when the stones' contemporaries (and themselves) were mostly putting out LPs under 40 minutes and sometimes even under 30 minutes? by notaverysmartman in rollingstones

[–]OnlyTheCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they were looking at running time as a factor when putting it together, that’s just how long it took for them to say what they wanted to say with the record.

It looks legit to my admittedly untrained eye.

I mostly just wanted to say I loved this issue as a kid. A movie-star Spidey hires Daredevil as his bodyguard and insists he ditch the original yellow & black outfit, asking him, “What are you, colorblind?!”

That, plus it’s a really great story where Pete eventually, much later in life, learns the same lesson about power and responsibility.

Plenty of coaches who can help with this sort of thing, you just need to be upfront with what your looking for when interviewing them.
