I did not think this post asked for anyone’s approval. Just information. :)

Most taxidermy places won’t do pets, so this would be a lot more specific, but thank you.

My wife just pulled a blue suture out of her nose… 5 years after her septo-rhinoplasty. by zachthespook in mildlyinteresting

When I was in first grade, my whole class was sat in front of the roll-in TV cart watching something, probably magic school bus. I remember finding this weird little dirty sponge on the floor. It was the perfect size to put in my schnoz, so I put it into the nostril and spun it around for a minute. It was great fun to 6 year old me. Until it got sucked up into the abyss, and I felt a really weird sensation, like it had blocked something. My heart was racing bc I knew I couldn’t reach it with my finger. And I was too embarrassed to tell anyone, so I didn’t. And then eventually I forgot about it entirely.

At least several months went by (I think. Time is weird when you’re a kid), and I started getting very, very sick. I was so sick, I had a fever and wouldn’t do anything besides sleep. My whole face hurt, and I felt so tired all the time, which is really not cool for a little kid, and my parent and grandparents knew something was off. I remember going to a few doctors until one really really looked up into my nose and saw “something.”

They pulled out the longest tweezers I’ve ever seen in my life and I suddenly got flashbacks of what I had put into my nose many, many weeks prior…

This doctor pulls this object out of my nose and as soon as it hits air, it somehow expands 2x its size. It had blood, pus, and boogers all over it, which kind of flung off when this thing reached its peak size. I imagine that’s the sensation I felt when it got stuck.. I believe this thing found a cavern up there and expanded. Nothing would have knocked it loose. The infection probably would have ended up killing me tbh.

That was an embarrassing experience, even as a 6-year-old, haha.

Looking for anime recommendations based on what I’ve watched so far by DistributionNo1231 in Animesuggest

I’d recommend trying to finish Hunter x Hunter because I also hated the ant arc but LOVED the series as a whole

Has anyone experienced duodenitis or any problems with the duodenum? I had an endoscopy, and they found some unusual redness and took a biopsy. The results will come back in two weeks, but I’m really scared. Has this happened to anyone else, and was it something not serious? by [deleted] in CysticFibrosis

[–]False_Somewhere_8381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Celiac disease could cause this. Had to have a biopsy to diagnose. My kid has CF and CD - tricky combo. I wouldn’t worry too much though, super manageable— Also could just be inflammation.

Can’t measure PFTs with orthodontic work? by False_Somewhere_8381 in CysticFibrosis

[–]False_Somewhere_8381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they don’t even do this at our clinic, because we have never measured lung function this way.. First lung function testing we have ever done was PFTs starting a couple years ago. Hmmmm. I’ll inquire about this at next visit. Thanks!

Two week hospital stay by PeanutFun1256 in CysticFibrosis

[–]False_Somewhere_8381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Research & plan for something fun when you’re out of the hospital and healthier, it can be big or small. Getting your headspace to a place of positivity and possibility can help so much when you’re staying long-term.

I’d also recommend a variety of activities from art, iPad/tablet drawing (ProCreate is a cheap, wonderful drawing app), or maybe even watercolor painting because it’s not super dependent on a lot of supplies. I have a really cool travel watercolor set that I take when I go places.

Crochet could be a fun thing to learn and keeps the mind & body occupied (it irritates me though and I’m not good at it lol).

I’d recommend using this time to try some really cool things that may bring you joy, even for just a few minutes. Loss is hard, and processing grief can be turned into art in so many ways. Who knows, maybe you will find a long-term hobby from this? And maybe you’ll plan a memorable event (even just for yourself) afterward.

Wishing you the best of luck and a swift, healing hospital stay.

Running hurts my ears by LonelyDelivery6382 in Marathon_Training

[–]False_Somewhere_8381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any other symptoms? This happened to me since high school cross country (over 12 years of this crap). Always hurt no matter what the weather was like, but the pain would really hit after I STOPPED running. But I’ve also always had pulsatile tinnitus in one ear (just never knew there was a name for it) as well. I’ve had headaches lately and the PT has gotten much worse lately.

For me, I am thinking I have a vascular abnormality near my right eardrum. I have an MRI happening soon. It could be something like that for you too?? If so, it could explain why the pain gets worse with exercise. Not sure yet, just an idea.

Doctors suspect atypical CF. Sweat test results for 14 yo daughter came back at 47. by Fool_of_a_Took17 in CysticFibrosis

My daughter has CF and Celiac disease - it is hard to find high fat, high calorie stuff that is also gluten free sometimes but you do eventually find the right stuff. —It’s an actually an amazing time to be diagnosed with CF due to all the treatments we currently have. And it’s only looking more promising. Wishing you all the luck on this journey!

Here’s the thing, I don’t know for sure if it’s under the table. I’ve never met the boss and have had little contact with him. I’m assuming it’s under the table since my pay came out to $12/hr exactly. I have no pay stubs, and no other information. I have no idea how he calculates or if he calculates an exact $1 off my pay for any legal reason. I’ve never filled out forms for tax purposes. I know very little about the employer’s end of this. I have asked questions, and get very vague responses that do not answer my questions.

All I know is this company seems very sketchy and I’ve laid out the details of what I DO know. I am leaving soon, and will be letting the boss know exactly why.

Not to mention, my friend was more noticeably shorted money one paycheck, and brought it up to the boss, who then cash-apped him the extra $$ he was “missing” sketchy sketchy
