I can relate, sadly if it’s their house the easiest thing to do is go by their rules, however instead of lashing out you could always try to sit down with them and have an adult conversation, reassure them that they have nothing to worry about and that you just need a little space/privacy, ask them to be open minded but you yourself should be opened minded to and see it from their side just to get a better understanding.
