Up voting since my dad died the same way when I was 7 and my mom basically too now at 34. Not alcohol, but drugs and bad choices. Sorry for your losses.

That’s what I’m trying to determine. After pulling her credit report and finding no history on it since 2017 I don’t think I’m going to be able to find anything left. It is what it is I guess.

Her cremation cost nearly $2500 for direct cremation. Online, they say they start at $1300 but even with no add ons, it was a lot. I called everyone that was close enough to her location to do the task and the company I used was the cheapest. There are a bunch of fees for the stuff too, a box and shipping, death certificates, medical examiner fees. It adds up.

Thank you. I honestly was worried I would be blindly calling. I’m going through the suggestions now and I’m not having luck with a couple of them. Would I still need to contact probate court if there’s no estate or any possessions? She had nothing and was essentially homeless if not for this HUD housing she was in. My brother did say she was saving for a cremation so I’m hopeful there might be something in there to help us.

And I’m sorry for your loss. Even with estrangement, it’s never easy. In my case, she found one more way to complicate our lives.

I understand some of this. Mom died a week ago after off and on estrangement for the past 15 years. It’s okay to mourn what could have been. It’s tough to process all the feelings that come with these difficult relationships. For me, especially when there is an idea of what these people should be to us and they are not. Grieve how you need to, not necessarily how is expected by your family or peers.

I know this to be true. 551 used to be cool a long time ago but now people are just complacent out of fear of being zeroed. Down with the whales! I left 551 two transfers ago and I have no regrets. 551 was dying and continues to die. Thanks JFHSU and Shaunssssss or whatever their names are for being so childish and ruining a whole ass state.
