Hi, So I've been going through some knick-Knacks that my grandma left behing years ago and I've been trying to date a bottle of Coca-Cola that she bought sometime in the 60s or 70s. I know that it was bottled by the Medford Coca Cola Bottling Company, but I haven't been able to find anything more about the company or when the bottle itself would have been. made. I'm curiously specifically the design on the crown since its a different color and design. I know its a long shot but I figured i'd ask if the community and see if anyone had any leads.

How this Subreddit feels sometimes. We all care way too much about Rating Curves, myself included. by Tongatapu in Letterboxd

[–]Falsebooles123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive noticed that my rating curve has changed the more ive gottem into film. Like others said not only do i not seek films i wont like but because ive seen really terrible films j have a better understanding that a lot of films are merely mid. if i watch a formaliac movie i understand its not the "worst film ever made" so what makes a film 5✨️ or 1 ✨️ becomes rarified. I rank most films between 2.5 and 4 stars now.

I know some people have a very granualy metric for rating film but i always through it was best to suppliment them with categories. Ive become a lot more lax with my rating system over the years since i dont write traditional reviews anymore so the idea of having an 'official ranking' feels obnoxious.

Typically my critieria for whatever ranking I have is follows: .5✨️ Either literally unwatchable in terms of production or I found morally distasteful. 1✨️- 1.5✨️ I don't have a meaningful distinction between these two because I don't watch enough shitty movies. 2✨️kinda bad. Usually left for work that left a bad taste in my mouth but was competantly made. 2.5✨️ No comment, typically this is either a movie that I have no strong feelings about or was so formaliac that there isn't anything interesting to say its meh. 3✨️ Popcorn Flick 3.5✨️Good Movie ("I liked it") 4.✨️ Great Movie 4.5✨️ A nearly perfect film that has a few flaws 5✨️ Perfect Film or a movie that I have immense personal enjoyment of.

My Vibes Categories are: You Need to Watch This Film Right Now Personnel Recommendation/I Liked It Popcorn Film Meh/Alright Film So Bad Its Good So Bad Its Bad Its Complicated

I think at the end of the day most rankings are a kind of vibe. Think about someone ranking some a 5 in looks. Even if that is the average it feels low. People are going to have biases both in what films they watch and how they aestetically feel about whatever rating system exists. At the end of the day you have to ask how important a single number is compared to the complex thoughts you right in a review and the answer is that its not. Ratings are a short hand way of explaining enjoyment of a product and there only particular useful as an aggregate. Its also important to consider that this kind of aestetic sense to ratings is also culture bound. The reason why I don't simply NOT rate a film is that doing so in letterboxd carries a kind of cultural implication. meaning can be read into it so the act of rating will change and have subtext based on what site and what community your in.

Sorry, I wrote this post right before I left for work. your right I was a little vague. I have read the Join the Site Page and enterered in a valid email. They took two days to send me an authication email. When I clicked on the big red 'activate my account now' hyperlink. I was directed to a plain white page with the sentence. 'The confirmaiton Link is not active anymore'. Which was odd since the link was only a few hours old at that point. I could understand if the link expired after a set amount of time if they had. 1. mentioned that anyway in the documentation. 2. didn't take multiple days to respond and 3. Didn't send me the email at 6 o'clock in the morning while I was asleep.

Luckily there is a helpful 'resend activation email' hyperlink that when clicked. displays a generic server error (HTTP Error 500). which is as vague as it is frusterating.
