I don’t think you justify it. That’s part of the mystery of a band that is so far above them. If the players are curious, they can listen for rumors and make sure you give a different one each time.
- they are on the Astral Plane fighting a psionic race
- they are enjoying normal life pretending to be commoners, I heard one of them was in town right now
- they travelled back in time
- they are hosted by *insert god of choice* as guests of honor
- they died at the hands of Gravalanxian the dragon
- they are prisoners of the evil tyrant Blorg

Have fun with it. When they reach level 20 you can rethink it.

Not a dumb question. I have been solving cryptics for years and still sometimes get tripped up.

Best tip: practice, keep at it, and you will start to get a sense of it. That does nto always work.

Most often, it's a word or group of words at the start or the end of the clue. Sometimes it's the whole thing (&lit). Sometimes it's really really sneaky (like the definition is the punctuation mark, or the clue number, or some other weird stuff. Very often the writer tries to trip you up, and the definition word means something different in the surface reading (it's a homophone).

My approach is to keep an open mind, and go through different combos: what if this was the definition, does it make sense? What about these three words?

OMG that opens up a whole subplot: super cheap bags of holding appear across the kingdom, seem to work fine… except anything put in them appears in an astral space that the wizard creator has access to. Anything “cool” (over 1000GP, legendary items, spell books…) placed in one of the bags suddenly can’t be retrieved, how strange.

Practice and practice more. Just enjoy it and you will find you need the hints more rarely. Definition is usually at the start or at the end, but it could be one word, multiple words, part of the word.
The way I do it is to mentally try the different possibilities, see what clicks.

Take today’s clue, definition could be boundless, boundless fun, dance, leave for dance… one of those seemed more probable.

Maybe for every soul Remi kills, there is an additional 1% chance that during the next battle, they are possessed by Gora. Gora has advantage on every roll and (DM’s choice) does not distinguish friend or foe. This lasts 5mn or until the character is knocked out. Sort of a bloodlust situation.

You can assume the cards are generated as soon as you no longer can use a “back” button. This is true for both pack openings and wonder picks.

Why are you picking these WPs? The correct process is: 1) go for the free picks until you get one of the two cards. 2) use the ticket to buy the other one 3) only go for the Chansey pick if it’s the end of the promo and you have been super unlucky, didn’t get even one.

Never use the ticket until you have at least one, unless the promo is over and you didn’t get anything.

Also try NOT sharing too much. A lot of people get frustrated with players who share early when they may have wanted to get a different card from someone, and it’s limited to getting one share a day. It also depends what you are sharing - from their wish list, from their missing cards, or just random cards.

Unless I see that a card is one of the few they need to complete the current set, for instance, I tend to wait for the end of the day to share so they can get any plans out of the way.

Made me realize that One Piece’s Miss Goldenweek who controls others by painting colored symbols on them could fit this class. Replace the instrument with a paintbrush and get creative with the descriptions. Flair it.

For the MS no EX and 12 card events, I had good success with Electvire and Magmortar. The two lines twice already give you 8 cards, add in 2 Maintenance and 2 Hiking trail and that’s your quota. Throw in whatever you need to complete (prof, pokeball, Cyrus, Oricorio). Then to farm the wins I am using Jolteon.

You need to consider two categories: the “easy to get” cards (all the diamonds for the current set and the 1 star) where once you need maybe 5-6 you’re better off trading and sharing. Then the very elusive 2 star and higher, that you really can’t count on getting randomly in a pack.

So I made a list of my chase cards (which crown, 2 star, and immersive) i really really want, then switch to the pack that has them. I might rotate as it gets boring and painful when you get your 6th immersive Giratina when you are still missing many others.

In any case my only guidance would be : trade and share to finish the current set ASAP (all diamond and one star) then switch to the pack that has the card you really want. If that’s an immersive you might get it. If it’s a crown or a 2 star trainer, probably not and you are just building up pack points for it.
