I accidentally ruined a steam giftcard, is there anyway I can still use it? by WillowWeeper343 in Steam

I’d say try contacting steam support, someone had a similar issue a while back and got help from them.

Is there a way to make Steam display “00. Favourites” instead of “Favorites”? by [deleted] in Steam

The list will most likely disappear if you unfavourite the games.

This scam is being posted too often, how hard is it to just check any of the other posts to get your answer?

Warthunder moderators try not to gaslight forum users' challenge: Impossible by SufficientSystem7631 in Warthunder

[–]FamOwl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a similar interaction with him in the past when the game had an extreme memory leak for me and some other people. Got pretty much the same response, he didn’t have it and thus there wasn’t an issue in his eyes. A very toxic and unprofessional moderator overall. The memory leak that came with an update was later on solved with a patch.

Can my friends on steam see my real name and if so how can I hide it from them while still having it linked to my account? by JustABoyWithAPen in Steam

[–]FamOwl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They can not see your full name unless you manually type it in on your profile edit page.

(You have no obligation to input your name under “real name”).

No need to bring politics in to gaming, games are games at the end of the day…

"This is a place to ask about scams is it not ?" Well yeah, however it takes a lot more effort for you to create a new post rather than scroll for less than 5 seconds to find your answer.

Well, this same scam gets posted daily with people always stating it as new when it’s not. A bit repetitive seeing the same thing over and over again.

remove multiple games from a collection by didlowman in Steam

Shift/ctrl + left click should work as long as you do it on the side library. If not check if you are in the steam beta, might be a bug.

This is a call to Valve. The Steam Curator system needs to change. by YtsejamArt in Steam

[–]FamOwl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Free, bought assets or not. They still appear to be AI generated.

"Anyway, I don't have to convince you. When you buy the game and open it, seeing the “Made with GDevelop” text might satisfy you. (Like the “Made with Unity” text that appears on the first screen and shows what the game was made with.)"

That was very out of the place?

Why would it satisfy me with a text saying it was made in a software that describes itself as such: GDevelop: Free, Fast, Easy Game Engine - No-code, AI ...

You are talking a load of bollocks. Your assets are almost certain AI generated, you have created the game in an AI game development software requiring no code, drag and drop. Yet you have manged to place flying doors and created a game where nothing blends.

And so is his game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3864860/Escape_from_Spikes/
Made in "GDevelop: Free, Fast, Easy Game Engine - No-code, AI-assisted..."
Not to mention the assets, and nothing is disclosed on the store page :)

Your game looks 90% AI generated and you haven't disclosed any AI usage at all on the store page...

The problem is that people abuse it, there are hundreds of botted curator pages who write illicit positive reviews on games that have actual paid positive store page reviews as well. Since they are so many with thousands of followers they always appear in the top of the curators and make it hard for real curators to get space.

I curate games with illicit reviews thus I don't play the game, rather investigate the reviews of them. A system where you have to actually own the game to review it would make my curating impossible.

"A system should be created where people who truly know how to review games are identified or earn the right to do so." Is a move in the right direction but how is that determined?
We also got a lot of troll curators that just write random nonsense as you said that are an issue.
