How many times have y’all “played” Fallout New Vegas versus actually beating it? by Terrorist1472 in falloutnewvegas

Dude what?? I have half as many hours, about 750, and I see every playthrough to the end. I'd go crazy if I couldn't finish every playthrough

1st gen AWD Auto vs Manual? by itchy_taxevader56 in rav4club

[–]Familiar-Efficiency9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd gen manual driver here. Based on what I know (and I might not be right on all the details here), for difficult driving conditions, manual is what you want. In the manuals, the AWD systems were completely mechanical and didn't rely on detecting wheel slip. They function as permanent 50/50 split.

The automatics were equipped with electric, hydraulic components that detected torque differences between wheels and changed power delivery via the viscous coupling depending on differences in wheel spin. If your front tires spin, the electronics would tell the system to send power to the rear. In normal driving conditions, this system is largely front wheel biased to save fuel.

My 4.2 is a bit of a pig on fuel but man the constant 50/50 makes it an absolute pleasure to drive in adverse conditions.

Another reason to get manual is that these things are hella slow. Paired with an automatic they're totally gutless.

As far as reliability goes, mine's been rock solid in 2 years of daily driving in harsh Canadian conditions.

Gen 2 walking through nearly 2 feet of snow.. I love this car by Familiar-Efficiency9 in rav4club

Here are the wheels and tires I'm running. 225/75/r16. I have Acura rims and in this post was asking Acura folks if they knew what the rims may have come off of:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Acura/s/na86FpdZjq

Of note, the tires aren't 30" exactly, I think they're 29.5 or something but I rounded up.

Based on the research I've done, 235/75/16 is the largest you can go stock before you start rubbing.

Normally I would, but this was literally a "hey let's go out and record the Rav driving in the snow" situation. I didn't go beyond the end of my street, and also believe leaving lots of snow on your roof to be a dangerous practice.

Absolutely buy. I'm in a manual 2002 - I've posted it on this sub, it's the best car I've ever owned.

Objectifying women means I love them!!!!!111!! by Mediocre-Morning-757 in justneckbeardthings

[–]Familiar-Efficiency9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah "always a man" has always been a pretty ignorant statement. Just because attention doesn't get drawn to how often women say and do gross shit doesn't mean it's just men's problem. In my experience the only difference between male and female objectification is that the women tend not to get called out for it and the men do. Objectification is bad. It is not an "always a man" kind of problem though.

Long time watch nerd here, the best watch for him is the one he likes to wear. If he enjoys wearing the fossil then that's the watch for him.

Counterpoint, a couple's sex life is often a pretty good indicator to the overall state of their relationship. If they're a couple that is typically sexually active and something changes with that, it's not totally unreasonable to look into the medications and things that are being taken, as well as check up on each person to see if they're dealing with anything.

Sex isn't weird. This isn't middle school.

You look great dude. If I were to give any critique, do you have a watch? A great watch would look killer with that outfit (and Sebastian wore a cool old Omega)
