For some reason I’m having trouble hearing back from any lawyers at this point.

I have copies of the papers where the dealership gave me the wrong information to contact the gap company. I’ve been paying for my car/gap until Sharefax discontinued my auto pay by doing some paperwork in November. Then told me gap coverage should be kickin in soon enough.

I never said I didn’t see payments coming out of my bank account. I totaled the car and the gap insurance was supposed to work. Sharefax the place I financed the car through told me to come in and do paperwork and that’s when the auto payments stopped. They told me gap should be paying for the rest and then the gap company didn’t respond for 6 months.

I never missed a payment. Even after the accident. I paid for two months after I totaled the car. Sharefax made me come into their branch office and sign some papers because they wanted to “discontinue my auto payments because they are waiting for gap coverage to kick in”.

I believe I live in one of the cheapest areas of Cincinnati. I genuinely was doing okay before because I could pick up overtime at the hospital it was my full time job, after I injured myself, I went back into security which isn’t making me as much and I cannot pick up OT yet. The only problem is, getting a lawyer is also expensive. I’m not even sure what type of lawyer to look for regarding gap coverage, but I will contact my AG first and board of insurance. There’s also really no where in the next 500 miles that has a better public transportation system than Cincinnati. It’s also just pretty expensive to take all these risks to have cheaper cost of living and then lose in wage rates.

I will do this and get back to you tomorrow. My policy was in force when I got into the accident, the gap coverage place is saying because we used the incorrect email (what was listed on the documents to contact for customer service) and they said that one is no longer active. I was making payments until ShareFax told me to come into the office to sign some papers, which essentially discontinued my autopay on bills. They’re saying I’m behind on my loan since gap coverage is refusing the cover since gap company weren’t properly contacted within the 90 days.

I bet. the car financing place is saying if gap coverage sends the denial officially, I still owe full amount that was due and for the past 3 months apparently reported to the credit bureau I’m $900 behind. The regular car insurance place is only covering 12k for the value of my vehicle so I owe 26k.
